Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Lionsgate's 'Conan the Barbarian' 3D

"I live, I love, I slay... and I am content!" Lionsgate debuted the first teaser trailer via Yahoo for Conan the Barbarian coming in 3D starring Jason Momoa as Conan this time, replacing Schwarzenegger from the 1982 movie. It's a true teaser in the sense that there's no footage from the movie, unless all that smoke is going to be in it, too. But that said, it's a pretty cool way of reminding audiences that Conan is coming back to the big screen later this year. I'm not particularly excited for this yet, despite featuring some pretty damn cool set photos, but they've still got plenty of time to impress me before August. Check out the teaser below!

In addition to Momoa, Conan stars Ron Perlman as Corin, Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym, Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Rose McGowan as Marique (no longer Red Sonja!) and Saïd Taghmaoui. This is being directed by Marcus Nispel of the Friday the 13th remake, that atrocity Pathfinder, the other Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and a bunch of music videos. This is a Nu Image/Millennium Films production co-produced by Avi Lerner and Joe Gatta and is based on the classic Robert E. Howard characters which first debuted in 1932 in Weird Tales. Lionsgate is bringing Conan the Barbarian to theaters in 3D on August 19th in the summer.

Jeewillikers, It's quite clear to the eyes that he is not black. If you weren't such a trailer trash racist than you could tell the obvious difference. That is just like saying a an Indian is Japanesse. You show that there are still lots of bafoon American's who are still stuck in the 50's without mental-evolution. He is from Hawaii and was on Baywatch Hawaii. The dudes also half German. Man are there still idiot/racists out there in 2011. I'd be open for a black Conan if they brought in some unknown with the persona of Will Smith.

The beginning with the smoke reminded me of the oracle scene in 300, which was actually the best thing about this teaser. Momoa has a weird effing face, I don't like to look at him. >.< Then again, Arnold wasn't exactly sexy, either, I guess... "I live, I love, I slay, I'm content." Oh well, at least the dialog is on par with the cornyness of the original.

LOL. Wow. Talk about terrible. The original was great. The Lame dialogue worked for when it came out. That's what made it great. The shit one-liners. This movie just looks like it's trying too hard and it will suck. Guranteed.

  This is just your everyday "MAN" movie. Its not ment to stimulate the mind, but rather excite the animal side inside us. This movie will be good for that. Blood, gore, tits, ass, and action. If you go expecting that you wont be dissapointed!

    If you read Conan, you would know that it was more than Blood, gore, tits, ass, and action, Conan was actually educated and eventually became a king, the stories have more depth than that. The stories dealt more with adventure than anything, exploring the world was the overall the theme that carried the stories. Unfortunately most people miss that about the series and only focus on the things that sale, as usual.

      Yes, Robert E. Howard's Conan was more interesting than any movie or TV show adaptation. The only one that really came close was the Marvel comic Conan. Roy Thomas did a great job, but there's nothing like the exhilaration of reading the original stories!

As a huge fan of the original, it is not my place to even BEGIN speculation for such a teasy teaser trailer. Theatrical trailer and then I'll start bashing/gushing. But to be honest, it's starting to look like what I thought a Conan remake would look like.

Sounds like a poet with a chip on his shoulder...Whatever happened to "have no limitations of women" or I'll bash your brain in just for looking at me the wrong way. Those words sound more barbaric. I think its going to be another scorpion king style type of movie. The trailer isn't that bad and all it is, is just a teaser can't really read into the plot just into the persona of the conan character which seems a bit bland.

That was one of the worst teasers I watched in my life ... Advice : 1- 3D !!??? Why ??? .. of course taking more money !!! 2- This is a Nu Image/Millennium Films production .. See their movie production history before you expect anything !!! 3- Shot in Bulgaria .. Half of the crew are not professionals !!! .. Believe me I saw how they work and I am not a big fan of their work !!! Good luck spending your money motivating such companies and people for making Low, Sh*ty, Unnecessary Remakes in 3D HHHHHHHHHH ... I think enough been said !!!

I thought this wasnt a remake. In fact I thought it was supposed to be called "Conan the Cimmerian", being a younger Conan and all. Some of you guys are taking it to the heart though. I mean, have you forgotten Conan the Destroyer? It was a pile of shit. Yet, it was fucking great. Give it a chance.

I don't know. I loved the original Barbarian and the Destroyer. I'll wait for the OFFICIAL trailer. This didn't look THAT bad. All Conan does is f**k people up in some adventure he gets in! Shouldn't be too hard to make a movie like that, right?

Jason Momoa is more true to Robert E. Howard's description of Conan. Don't get me wrong, I loved Arnold in the first Conan movies, but I'm really excited to see Momoa in the role.

WOW! That was so shitty I could actually smell it! How hard is it to read Robert E. Howard's Conan and convert it to film? There's a huge amount of source material and they'll still balls it up. This would be an embarrassment to the SyFy channel. NOCAN do the Barbarian.

  Apparently, Robert E. Howard is like Rocket Science to Hollywood. Almost anything Howard wrote could be made into an awesome film. Heck, even one of de Camp's pastiches would be better than this tepid plot. And, for Pete's sake, WHY IN 3D?

Just watch a string of commercials on any cable channel and take note of who is portrayed as the 'idiot' almost every time.
