A Lonely Place to Die Trailer

Out here, there's nowhere to hide. An official UK trailer for indie horror-thriller A Lonely Place to Die has hit the web over on The Sun (via Bloody-Disgusting) and can be viewed below. The film is about a group of climbers who come across a young girl in a makeshift box in the forest and try to take her back, but are pursued in the wilderness by her kidnappers. Aussie hottie Melissa George stars, along with Ed Speleers, Eamonn Walker, Sean Harris and Alec Newman. I would've preferred not to know they make it out to some town, but other than that, this is a great trailer, I'm actually sold on something I had no interest in before.

Watch the first UK trailer for Julian Gilbey's A Lonely Place to Die, embedded from The Sun:

A group of mountaineers climbing in the Scottish Highlands find a young Serbian girl buried in a chamber in the forest and becomes caught up in a terrifying game of cat and mouse with her strange kidnappers.

A Lonely Place to Die was both written and directed by British filmmaker/editor Julian Gilbey, of the UK indies Rise of the Footsoldier, Rollin' with the Nines and Reckoning Day previously. The screenplay was co-written by Julian Gilbey and his brother Will Gilbey. This already showed at ActionFest earlier this year and is playing at FrightFest in the UK. Though we're not sure what company is distributing this in the US, it has a tentative release date of November 11th in the fall. For more info, visit their official Facebook page.

@ beevis, Absolutely, my only regret in watching is, as usual, too much revealed. Loved the climbing scenes.

me too! hey, if you like climbing - have you seen "touching the void" (it's a doc with amazing climbing) or "into thin air"? i liked both of those.
    • That's exactly what I was trying to say! "This is a great trailer, I'm actually sold on something I had no interest in before." Yea, it really impressed me, I want to see this, too!

yea, man - the biggest fun in movies isn't necessarily seeing the "can't-miss" movies (although that's great fun)'s finding films you either never heard of OR didn't think you'd like and REALLY enjoying them. it's why i love indie films so much.

i love the rolls that Melissa George decides to play and she alone sells this movie for me. seriously when i have nothing to watch, "30 Days of Night" and "Triangle" are 2 of my favorite movies to just sit down and enjoy. im hoping this is added to the list!

I've seen it. I thought it was great and got great reactions from the audience (Fantasia Filmfestival). (don't dig the fact that you Alex didn't post the trailer to my film :/    😉  ) There was a few places were A lonely place... turned sort of cliche - but I don't think that is anything the director (nice fellow!) ever wanted to turn away from! He wanted to make an entertaining and horrific audience pleasing film and he succeds. It was a nice and often visually stunning ride! Well worth seeing!
