Henry Cavill as Theseus

"He fights against all odds." Relativity recently released this new featurette via MTV for Tarsem Singh's Immortals, the Greek gods epic that we've been teasing with many trailers for quite a while. The featurette takes a closer look at the story behind Theseus, played by Henry Cavill, our demigod hero and the badass main character we follow in this. There's a few interview snippets with Cavill and Tarsem, and even Luke Evans, as well as some new footage of his fights and early scenes with John Hurt that define his character. It actually makes the character of Theseus look very well-rounded. I still can't wait to see this movie! Enjoy.

Watch the featurette "The Story Behind Theseus" from Tarsem's Immortals, originally via MTV:

Immortals follows the story of warrior prince Theseus as he leads men into battle against imprisoned titans in order to save mankind. It's a $100 million epic and will be converted to 3D in post-production for release by Relativity this year, after being shot on soundstages in Montreal last year. The screenplay was written by Charley Parlapanides & Vlas Parlapanides. Also starring: Freida Pinto, Stephen Dorff as Stavros, John Hurt as Old Zeus and Corey Sevier as Apollo. "The Gods are like superheroes," Tarsem has teased before. Relativity is bringing Immortals to theaters everywhere in 3D starting November 11th - it's almost time!

i don't see how it can miss - i get the same feeling from this that i did when i saw the first trailer for 300 - and that turned out kick-butt!.........how about that guy with the horns at 1:02 of the video - TOTAL badassery!!!!!
        • I'd watch anything Tarsem Singh related, his vision is great. I did kindo like 300, it was heavily homo-erotic but that's cool. One thing with 300 was that it was changing the way the film looked quite drastically, I really loved that. On a Sparta note, I'm sure you've watched this Beevis, but it still makes me laugh, you really can't take Scottish people anywhere! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvX4AiGY5dY

Saw it already, style over substance. It looked cool, but the story, characters, and acting were all mediocre.

"style over substance" can be ok if it turns out like 300. i'm watching this for the visuals and action - i'm not going into it expecting "shawshank redemption".

me neither, but 300 was more fun than this, because 300 didn't try to have substance, but immortals did try.

Compared to Clash of the Titans this looks solid.

I saw a trailer for this on the big screen recently.  The meter has made a major move away from 'Highly stylised possible classic' towards 'camp car crash'.

    Totally PSYCHED!
  • September until December has been incredibly slow for movies, the best ones like moneyball or 50/50 can be viewed at home on dvd, no need to see them on the big screen. Ill see this just to fill the void of blockbusters.
