The Pirates! Band of Misfits Trailer

"He's got the crew. He's got the parrot. And he's got the moves." So, before anyone gets worried, this is indeed titled The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists only in the UK, but is still known as The Pirates! Band of Misfits in the US. Empire has debuted a brand new UK trailer for The Pirates!, the Aardman claymation animated feature film based on the books in Gideon Defoe's The Pirates! series. We featured the first US trailer for this back in July and are happy to post this latest one, as it just looks like so much fun! Hugh Grant voices the Pirate Captain and Jeremy Piven is in there, too. Give this one a shot!

Watch the new UK trailer for Aardman's The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists from Empire:

Pirate Captain is a boundlessly enthusiastic, if somewhat less-than-successful, terror of the High Seas. With a rag-tag crew at his side (Martin Freeman, Brendan Gleeson, Russell Tovey, and Ashley Jensen), and seemingly blind to the impossible odds stacked against him, the Captain has one dream: to beat his bitter rivals Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) to the much coveted Pirate Of The Year Award. It’s a quest that takes our heroes from the shores of exotic Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. Sounds fun. Co-directing the film is Peter Lord, of Chicken Run previously, and Jeff Newitt, from a script by Gideon Defoe. Sony will be bringing The Pirates! to theaters March 30th, 2012.
