Watch: Tom Hardy & Chris Pine Face-Off in 'This Means War' Trailer

Both Tom Hardy and Chris Pine have enjoyed quickly rising careers with films like Inception and Star Trek making them household names respectively. Now the two are facing off in this first trailer for the action comedy This Means War. Basically looking like a big budget version of Spy vs. Spy—which the trailer proudly claims—Hardy & Pine play to deadly CIA operatives who find out they've fallen for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon) and use their skills and endless resources to take each other out, make explosions and win the woman of their dreams. Looks like it should be fun, you can see for yourself below!

In This Means War, the world’s deadliest CIA operatives (Tom Hardy and Chris Pine) are inseparable partners and best friends until they fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon). Having once helped bring down entire enemy nations, they are now employing their incomparable skills and an endless array of high-tech gadgetry against their greatest nemesis ever - each other. McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) is directing the film from a script by Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and Timothy Dowling (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines). The film is slated to hit theaters on February 17th, 2012 next year.

Random Star Trek connection - Chris Pine (James Kirk) and Tom Hardy (Shinzon) together on screen. I wasn’t interested in this movie until they cast these two in it. They are both incredible actors and it will be amazing to see them bounce off each other in this film. I hope ‘This Means War’ is a grand success - critically and commercially.

  I am with you, this will be the first Tom Hardy Movies I am passing on as well. It looks ok, but god, I have seen this movie a million times already, its like every other movie out there.

In real life, if Tom Hardy were fighting Chris Pine for a woman Hardy would win, the movie would be 4 seconds long, and the title of the movie would be "Don't Blink You'll Miss The Fight."

I dislike the writers and I despise the director, but I love the three main actors, and the trailer made me laugh. Although the background team disappoints me, I'll definitely be catching this. Maybe McG should stick with action comedies of this caliber.
