Amber Heard Has 'Paranoia' with Liam Hemsworth & Harrison Ford
In case you didn't get enough corporate espionage from Tony Gilroy's Duplicity back in 2009, there's another film on the way to satisfy your need. The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth is lined up to star in a thriller called Paranoia for director Robert Luketic (21, Killers), and Variety reports uber-hottie Amber Heard has joined the cast as the female lead, playing Hemsworth's love interest. Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman add a dash of class and experience to the movie, which tells the story of a young blue-collar worker who makes an unfortunate mistake at work and is blackmailed into spying on a rival corporation. Read on!
Ford and Oldman will presumably play the heads of the competing businesses, while Heard plays a girl intended to be a one-night stand for Hemsworth, but she becomes vital to his cause when he realizes she works for the competing organization. This sounds like the same kind of shady dealings we've seen in movies like the Tom Cruise thriller The Firm, and in this time of economic uncertainty, it's no surprise that screenwriters are painting large corporations as enemies with ulterior motives. Heard has been acting since 2004, but has never made an impression aside from her gorgeous looks, so hopefully working with veteran actors like Ford and Oldman will raise her game enough to make a real name for herself. The jury's still out on the younger Hemsworth since he only appeared in The Hunger Games for 5 minutes, and since I'm not looking forward to The Expendables 2, I'll reserve judgment until I see him carry a film on his shoulders.
