Anna Kendrick, Imogen Poots & Felicity Jones in 'Captain America 2'?

Now that we have a date for The Avengers 2 hitting theaters in 2015, we can start digging into the details of the films between now and then including Iron Man 3 (which is having a slight production delay), Thor: The Dark World (with Christopher Eccleston as the villain) and Captain America: The Winter Solider which has Anthony Mackie signing up for duty with Chris Evans. Now the latter Marvel sequel is also working to line-up a female lead and The NY Post reports Anna Kendrick, Imogen Poots and Felicity Jones are all on the shortlist to play an unknown character, though we have a good idea of who it might be.

These actresses are likely being lined up to play Sharon Carter, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D who is the niece of Peggy Carter, the love interest of Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger. There were rumblings of Atwell somehow being brought back, but since the sequel is set in present day, it's unlikely that she would be another female lead again. This line-up of actresses is exciting, but I wish Alice Eve, who was once in consideration for the role of Peggy Carter, was included too. My choice for the role is Kendrick, who deserves a big comic role like this, but Jones (who stunned my with talent in Like Crazy) would be great too.

I vote Kendrick. She's a fine actress whose only huge movie has been Twilight. The casual film goers should see her in something where you could actually show her talent.

I hope that Anna Kendrick is cast. I don't like Imogen Poots and I haven't seen much of Felicity Jones. I do recall that she was in the running to play Snow White in both film adaptations, so maybe it is good that she is pursuing another big film.

I always picture Imogen as Enchantress... As for the Sharon Carter thing I don't think so!! I think who ever gets cast will play Bernie Rosenthal... Bernie was engaged to Cap at one time. She leased an apartment directly below Rogers, when they both stayed in New York.... And looking at the actresses that they going for, I would say they more girl next door types, then Sharon who basically is a military brat!!

Probably not Sharon Carter... Carter is straight up military, born and bred in the army, they more girl next door types... With that being said, I say the role will probably be for Bernie Rosenthal. She leased an apartment directly below Rogers when they both stayed in New York and they were engaged once upon a time..

Although I think Atwell was drop dead, punch my boner gorgeous, I think it was a smart move to try and not revive her as the niece, as earlier reports read. Bring Kendrick on! She's smart, adorable, and has some acting chops. She can also play spunky, which is a fave.

Anna Kendrick would be my choice for the part. She did a credible job in Rocket Science, Up in the Air and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
