Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito & Eddie Murphy Are 'Triplets'

Eddie Murphy / Twins

If the idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito being Twins back in the 1988 comedy was just too wacky, then you'll want to buckle your seatbelts. Heat Vision has news that 24 years later, a sequel is on the way. However, rather than just a reunion of the big action star and the tiny funnyman, the new film will be called Triplets and will make Eddie Murphy apart of this strange family. In the original film, the twins were born in a secret lab somewhere in the Western hemisphere, so it's not that ridiculous for them to have an African American brother, and the concept sounds crazy enough to work as a solid comedy sequel.

I had the pleasure of hearing about this project last August while visiting the set of The Last Stand, but we were unable to confirm whether or not myself and the other writers on set would be allowed to break the story. Needless to say, at first we thought Schwarzenegger was joking when he mentioned it, but when he elaborated on the idea, it became all too real, but not any less of a funny concept. Twins was quite a successful and hailed comedy, and as someone who has been eager for Schwarzenegger to return to comedy along with his slew of action roles, this is just what the doctor ordered. There's no director attached yet, or a script for that matter, but the original helmer, Ivan Reitman, will still produce. Sound fun?

one of these does not belong with the others.....
    • Akirakorn
NONE of these belong with the others... with the exception of their comedic talents being often ignored.

I gotta say no. Loved Twins. Love Arnie and DeVito. But, this just shouldn't happen. If it does, I hope they do a good job with it.

So, when you say " the concept sounds crazy enough to work as a solid comedy sequel"  you mean, a solid comedy sequel in hell... right?
  • ryderup
Not worse than Eddie Murphy playing all three in fat suits.

Calling it, early April Fools. Otherwise, my brain will snap.
    • SV7
      Agreed. Early April Fools.
  • Richie G
Yeah, go for it. I can see no reason to think this wouldn't be a fun movie... so long as Murphy is on his A game and not coasting, as he has been for years... yeah, it's probably gonna suck
  • Danny De Vito is the only one of the 3 worth watching.

If this is the case, can we at least get Golden Child 2. That would at least rejump start (Dreamgirls) Eddie Murray's career. And while we are on the "lets remake the 80s decade" gravy train, Stir Crazy (Kevin Hart and Seth Rogan), Short Circuit, Mr. Mom (with Micheal Keaton as a grandfather) and Howard The Duck remake while your at it.......... Dare I say Gung Ho (also with Micheal Keaton).
    • grimjob
Please no remake of Gung Ho.

Those are some good remakes and casts!lol!!
    • Crazy Legs
They should remake The Wraith and have Charlie Sheen play the role of the sheriff thistime around. I know it's not a comedy, but it was a cool 80's flick. Bad ass cars, cool sci fi feel, awesome soundtrack!

You kinda got me with the stir crazy...  Sounds pretty darn good.
  • I can't wait for the Taxi remake with Warwick Davis as Louie De Palma. I'm almost serious.
    • Solo_Calrissian
I see that Willow's doing comedy now.

Isn't arnold like 70? Devito close to 60 and Eddie in his early 50's?
  • I like the idea so long as it isn't a forced comedic relationship. Keep it more quirky than funny or serious and I'm happy.  Really only Arnold needs lines the other two just need to have a conversation and bam you got material.

Danny "frank Reynolds" De Vito will be absolutely class!! "I mean who throws a pefectly good carton of eggs away"
