'Battleship' Star Rihanna Rumored to Play 'Fast and Furious 6' Villain
When the dust settled after the chaotic conclusion in Fast Five, the fifth installment in the popular Fast and Furious franchise made over $626 million worldwide and cemented fan interest in seeing the series continue. The addition of Dwayne Johnson as the relentless Agent Hobbs gave an extra burst of energy to the franchise, and now it appears director Justin Lin is looking to add some more to the mix in Fast and Furious 6. Last week, Haywire star Gina Carano entered negotiations to join Johnson's team, and now The Daily Mail reports that Battleship star and pop singer Rihanna is coming on board as a "sultry villain."
We'll take this story with a grain of salt since nothing has been confirmed yet and the source is known for gossip and not exactly 100% reputable, but if it does turn out to be true, the Barbadian songstress will play a villain with "plenty of bite." Somehow I doubt that the 24-year-old Rihanna could do anything to scare Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, or even Michelle Rodriguez or Jordana Brewster, but we'll see if she kicks alien ass in Battleship in the middle of May first. The sequel will film in London and Berlin for a summer 2013 release, and we'll keep you posted as the blockbuster film develops. Thoughts?
