Blake Lively, Channing Tatum & Jude Law Will Have 'The Side Effects'
His viral thriller Contagion just recently hit shelves on DVD and Blu-Ray, and the action thriller Haywire starring MMA fighter Gina Carano surrounded by a star-studded cast (including Ewan McGregor and Michael Douglas) hits theaters in a couple of weeks, and now director Steven Soderbergh is gathering the cast for The Side Effects, his new film previously referred to as The Bitter Pill. The director took on the project when negotiations with Warner Bros. over The Man from U.N.C.L.E. broke down and now The Playlist reports that Blake Lively, Channing Tatum and Jude Law are all in talks to star in the film.
Lively, working with Soderbergh for the first time, will play Emily Hawkins, a woman who turns to prescription meds to cope with the anxiety of her husband's forthcoming release from prison (played by Tatum, fresh off working with Soderbergh on both Haywire and Magic Mike). Meanwhile Jude Law, who starred in Soderbergh's Contagion last year will play Lively's new psychiatrist. Deals aren't finalizing, but this casting should be official very soon. Apparently there's also plenty more meaty supporting roles, so hopefully Soderbergh brings together another great ensemble cast for this film as well.
