Cameron Diaz is 'The Other Woman' in New Revenge Comedy at Fox
The film's of Cameron Diaz have been hit or miss. Despite Tom Cruise's best efforts, Cameron Diaz didn't help Knight & Day land very well, and she certainly didn't bring anything remarkable to Green Hornet. However, when it comes to films like Bad Teacher or even The Holiday, she seems to work just fine. Perhaps action comedy isn't her strong suit, therefore, a revenge comedy called The Other Woman might be one of her good projects. Fox is behind the film which has Diaz attached to play a woman who finds out she is the other woman in a love triangle with a married man and his wife. So there's only one thing to do.
After learning that she's just a mistress, Diaz's character decides to conspire with the wife to get revenge against her husband. The Wrap reports Melissa Stack (who made the Black List with the script I Want to Fuck Your Sister) wrote the film and Kristen Wiig is also being considered for one of the roles (though it may or may not be the wife). The film is described as being similar to the Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton comedy The First Wives Club but with a younger cast. If Diaz can pull of a comedy akin to Bad Teacher or the older There's Something About Mary, count me in, especially if Wiig ends up joining.
