"I just wanted my dog back!" The teaser trailer for Tim Burton's black and white, stop-motion animated adaptation of his live-action short film from decades ago only gave us a hint of the story which brings Frankenweenie back to life, but now a new full length trailer brings plenty of new elements into the mix. Not only does Victor (Charlie Tahan of Charlie St. Cloud) bring Sparky back from the dead, but some other kids in town look to bring back some other deceased creatures as well. This looks like a return to form for Tim Burton, and we might have a film on par with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Watch it below!
Here's the new trailer for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, originally high def from Apple:
Young Victor (Charlie Tahan) conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. Based on Burton's original 1984 B&W short.
Frankenweenie was directed by mastermind Tim Burton, who's brought us Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Big Fish, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and The Nightmare Before Christmas previously. The screenplay was written by John August (Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, The Nines) from a story by Tim Burton & Leonard Ripps. Disney is bringing Frankenweenie to theaters everywhere in 3D starting on October 5th later this year. Watch the first teaser trailer here.
