Comedian Louis CK, Peter Sarsgaard & More Join Woody Allen's Next
Just last week "Lost" star Michael Emerson joined the cast of Woody Allen's still untitled next film following To Rome with Love this summer, and now even more, eyebrow-raising names have signed up too. Joining Emerson and previously announced cast members Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin will be stand-up comedian Louis C.K. (who has a hilarious show on FX that you should be watching), Bobby Cannavale (Win Win), Peter Sarsgaard and once prominent comedian Andrew Dice Clay, who recently enjoyed a funny stretch on the last season of "Entourage" playing an exaggerated version of himself. More below!
Oh, and apparently the seemingly forever young Max Casella and Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro star Alden Ehrenreich also have roles, not to mention we now have confirmation from Variety that Sally Hawkins is definitely in the movie now as well (no word on Bradley Cooper though). Again, I can't stress enough that I never really care what a Woody Allen film is about, but just who is going to be in it, and this ensemble is remarkable. The addition of Louis C.K. has me all giddy because his stand-up style and writing for his own show just feels like a more contemporary, grumpy, jaded version of Woody Allen's days on the stand-up stage, and a promo for this summer's new season even takes a cue from Manhattan. Plus, what's it going to be like to have Andrew Dice Clay around? Stay tuned as this project continues to develop!
