Dane DeHaan & More Up for Harry Osborn in 'Amazing Spider-Man 2'

With Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone back as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and new cast members like Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson and Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro, the cast of the blockbuster sequel is almost filled out. But one last key role to be filled is Harry Osborn, the childhood friend of Parker and eventually becomes one of his deadly foes in the comics. James Franco took on the role in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, but now Heat Vision has word that Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro) and Brady Corbert (Melancholia) are up for the role.

The character description has apparently been reworked because it originally called for a typical, athletically built actor, but a darker and edgier version has them looking at some different candidates. DeHaan would be my top choice after turning in a breakthrough performance in Chronicle, and it'd be great to see him become an established comic book villain. He would also jive well with Garfield on screen, I think. Ehrenreich is a great talent who also deserves a bigger film, but he has Beautiful Creatures coming out in 2013, so he's already on the rise. Corbet seems like an interesting choice out of nowhere, but could also do well. I'm just interested to see how Marc Webb tackles this familiar part of Spider-Man's history.

these characters are all way to young for me to get involved in watching this new reboot, they should have named it ultimate spidey instead. Which means 2 more movies down the road when they need to draw big $$$ again they'll bring in Venom , it'll be too late and screw it up again.

Would love to see Dehaan as Osborn. I guess keeping them young will draw the frandchise out. They need figure out how to use Donald Glover in the sequel!

This is completely not true. There are four actors testing this weekend in LA for the role and NONE of the actors listed above are part of that process
