Even though we're still a couple months away from seeing 007 back in action with Sam Mendes' Skyfall, there's good news for James Bond fans everywhere today. It's been rumored that Daniel Craig was going to stay on Her Majesty's Secret Service for at least two more films, and this week word came from MI6 (with confirmation from Deadline today) that the Brit will indeed return as James Bond for two more outings. That doesn't mean Craig won't do more, but that's all he's signed on for at this time. In addition, Sony and MGM have agreed to co-finance what will be the 24th and 25th films in the long running series. Read on!
As a bonus for all you James Bond fans out there, IGN has also released this cool featurette on the opening action sequence from Skyfall which has been glimpsed in the most recent trailers. Check it out right here:
There are no release dates for those films yet, but considering MGM has said they want a James Bond film in theaters every two years, I'm betting 2014 is a safe bet for the next film. After all, there were already rumblings back in April that Columbia was looking at getting another Bond off the ground, so it just makes sense. It'll be good to have Craig back for more, but I can't see him doing others beyond that. Now let's just get excited for Skyfall hitting theaters November 9th. Glad to have Daniel Craig back for more?
