Daniel Craig Confirmed to Return for Two More James Bond Films
Even though we're still a couple months away from seeing 007 back in action with Sam Mendes' Skyfall, there's good news for James Bond fans everywhere today. It's been rumored that Daniel Craig was going to stay on Her Majesty's Secret Service for at least two more films, and this week word came from MI6 (with confirmation from Deadline today) that the Brit will indeed return as James Bond for two more outings. That doesn't mean Craig won't do more, but that's all he's signed on for at this time. In addition, Sony and MGM have agreed to co-finance what will be the 24th and 25th films in the long running series. Read on!
As a bonus for all you James Bond fans out there, IGN has also released this cool featurette on the opening action sequence from Skyfall which has been glimpsed in the most recent trailers. Check it out right here:
There are no release dates for those films yet, but considering MGM has said they want a James Bond film in theaters every two years, I'm betting 2014 is a safe bet for the next film. After all, there were already rumblings back in April that Columbia was looking at getting another Bond off the ground, so it just makes sense. It'll be good to have Craig back for more, but I can't see him doing others beyond that. Now let's just get excited for Skyfall hitting theaters November 9th. Glad to have Daniel Craig back for more?

Wow, he's doing all right. I've only run across a few people in real life who don't like him, they must be disappointed. Don't see what there is to not like.

I think Daniel Craig is a great modern day Bond. He brings a new presence to the character that is refreshing for the franchise. My father disagrees. He's one of those "Connery and Moore are the only real Bonds" guys. In my opinion, James Bond, like, say, Batman, is the type of character that can be presented in a variety of ways and they all feel true to the core of the character, even if the nuances are radically different. So good for Craig. If he completes two more films as Bond, that puts him at #3 on the "times played James Bond" chart, right after Connery at #2 and Moore at #1.

I just hope the next two don't take the star wars route (like they have been) and take another 3-4 years to make.

I am very happy to see more of Daniel Craig as James Bond. I think as actors go he does one hell of a job with the character. But I honestly think there will be no better Bond than Sean Connery. Call it a Platonic Ideal or Imprinting, but he was the first man to play the role I saw and so far no one has been able to match his smart ass attitude while maintaining that debonair style. He was brooding when he needed to be and comically adequate to boot. If any one thinks he will look too old, go check out the last few Roger Moore-era films. He(!) looked old.

The best bond ever!

Craig's bond is a brutish neanderthal. Bond is meant to be suave and debonair. It looks like we will have to be subjected to his thuggish interpretation of the character for a while yet.

You sir have no clue what you are talking about, Iam Flemings original Bond was a brute cold, calculating killer, Connery and hollywood slurred the original character interpretations so if anything, Craig play the truest Bond to the source material there ever was.
