Dwayne Johnson Lands Sci-Fi Action Adventure 'Lore' at Warner Bros
The man saw plenty of action in Fast Five with another sequel in the Fast and Furious franchise on the way, and he's seen plenty of adventure with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and another sequel on the way in that franchise as well. Now Dwayne Johnson is looking into a different kind of action adventure for his next film Lore, an adaptation of T.P. Louise's graphic novel that has been picked up by Warner Bros. that's being described as "Men in Black with mythological creatures." Considering I've always thought that Johnson would be a good fit in the Men in Black franchise, this sounds sort of perfect to me. More below!
The graphic novel is described here: "In times past, the world was full of mythical creatures - creatures long since banished and held at bay by the secret society of Shepherds. But when the generational line of Shepherds is broken, a reluctant hero finds her life threatened from every quarter. And the creatures are coming back!" Likely Johnson's character turns into some sort of protector of the female hero mentioned in the brief synopsis. What has me most interested in the film, which THR says will be adapted by Cory Goodman (Priest) and Jeremy Lott, is the art in the book from Ashley Wood, and I wonder how that will translate to the big screen. No director is attached yet, and Warner Bros. just beat out Paramount and Sony for the rights to the graphic novel, so stay tuned.
