Entertainment Weekly's 'The Dark Knight Rises' Cover with Catwoman

Finally a worth update on The Dark Knight Rises, since its been rather quiet recently. Thanks to a tip from Nolan Fans, Entertainment Weekly has unveiled their new cover for Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, starring Christian Bale as Batman, with Tom Hardy as Bane. This cover actually features Batman and Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway, who is definitely more suitable cover material for magazine racks. She's in full Catwoman gear standing behind Batman, but as Nolan tells EW, "She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness." Eight years after The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to the limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent.

The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception previously. The script was co-written by Christopher & Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight), from a story by Chris Nolan & David S. Goyer (of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight). Warner Bros is bringing The Dark Knight Rises to regular and IMAX theaters everywhere July 20th, 2012 this summer. The Legend Ends...

I was hoping for the full cowl and goggles look from the modern day series (like Ahrkam City, very sexy) but knowing that it's Anne Hathaway... This will do.

why is catwomans hair and face unconcealed? if we wanted a more realistic take on the character, she would probably try her best to hide her features. i mean, its not too bad, but it just reminds me of those early and strange renditions of catwoman. sorry. just my own opinion.

Catwoman's suit looks pretty nice but the mask and the cat ears don't look good. Can't wait for the dark knight rises its gunna be awesome!

Once again, nothing screams Dark Knight like a well-lit photograph. F'n awful...the only marketing pic they've got right so far is the dark, rainy poster of Bane walking away from Batman's shattered mask.

Re: CatWoman's unconcealed mask: Gotham will be in a state of revolution. The rebels will take over the city, others will be in hiding...a criminal such as Selina Kyle will not need to hide her identity really because crime will be rampant, and her identity will not matter to them.

Looks to me like the "Cat ears" are actually her googles pushed up onto her head. I don't mind it, I'm not totally sold, but I have faith in Nolan, he hasn't put a foot wrong so far.

  I Agree. Anne is a fine actress but the mask..looks like something out of Austin Powers. I dunno. I was never a fan of TDK. One of the few I suppose. As talented as Nolan is, he sure is not (yet) in the same league as someone like Ridley Scott. Even tho the Prestige comes close to be a genius of a film, to me this year is about Sir Ridley Scott's return to a genre he really did define.

My big problem with Chris Nolan is action itself. Action in batman begins was not bad but only not bad! Only chasing in subway with batcar was superb. Action in dark knight is very little and mean too! Only batcycle in subway was superb too! In both movies one same sequence was superb! Chris was little god director in my opinion but he must take focus on them! We dislike perfunctory action sequences ! Also I love him and believe in storytelling and complexing of his mind!
