There are so many movies at the Sundance Film Festival that it's nearly impossible to see all of them. We're getting to that point in the year where a lot of indie films are being unloaded in limited theaters to get an early start on some buzz heading into awards season. One such film that neither myself or Alex Billington got to check out was Middle of Nowhere, and now the first trailer is here with the film's release around the corner. It looks like a quiet drama that rarely sees theaters nowadays with some great breakthrough performances from David Oyelowo, Omari Hardwick and newcomer Emayatzy Corinealdi. Watch it!
Here's the first trailer for Ava DuVernay's Middle of Nowhere from YouTube:
Ava DuVernay won the Best Director Award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival for Middle of Nowhere, the story of Ruby (Emayatzy Corinealdi), a bright medical student who sets aside her dreams and suspends her career when her husband is incarcerated. As the committed couple stares into the hollow end of an eight-year prison sentence, Ruby must learn to live another life, one marked by shame and separation. But through a chance encounter and a stunning betrayal this steadfast wife is soon propelled in new and often shocking directions of self-discovery. Participant Media sends the film to theaters on October 12th Well?
