Stage Fright

This Halloween marks another chapter in the found footage horror franchise Paranormal Activity with the fourth installment arriving in October, but this year also brings more of the shakily shot subgenre in the form of Stage Fright. The film acts as the only evidence of what happened to a group of high school students who find themselves trapped in the theater where a drama student died 25 years earlier. It looks kind of spooky, but I'm not sure how news footage about filmmakers wanting to make a movie about the incident is supposed to enhance the story. Are they trying to make it real like Blair Witch Project perhaps?

Here's the first trailer for Chris Lofing's Stage Fright, originally found by Bloody Disgusting:

25 years after the tragic death of small town high school drama student Charlie Grimille, four teens get locked inside the theater in which he died. Witness the only obtained evidence from the most haunting unsolved case in the Midwest. Chris Lofing directs Stage Fright for Tremendum Pictures with a script he wrote himself along with Travis Cluff. The film is supposed to arrive in theaters sometime this October. For more information on Chris Lofing's Stage Fright, visit their official Facebook page. Anyone interested?

While I appreciate adding new elements to the "found footage" concept, I feel like this kind of story line is pretty played out.

I agree Tyler. Looks good and I'm looking forward to it. Too many neg' heads think they seen and know it all. Yet wouldn't know a good film if it leapt through their TV screen and grabbed them round the throat. (Oh I guess that has been done too has it guys??, Come on!! at least they're making what looks like quality stuff.

Horrible trailer, on a separate note I just saw V/H/S and although some of the story's weren't the best for the most is a pretty impressed film, I'm thinking it's gonna end up being the best horror film of the year...the last story in the film was especially good

There have been too many bad ones in the last few years to make me want think that this will actually be great.

is it me or did it sound like they ripped of the Prometheus trailer song and just tweaked it a little bit

Meh. Very few horror movies are actually creepy or scary. This looks like more of the same. I'll wait for V/H/S. At least it looks entertaining.

This looks good and I'm looking forward to it. I guess Blair Witch was the forerunner but I still think BW was an awful film, not scary at all. this looks so much better than BW and even the Paranormal Activity sequals. Makes me laugh people who write it off without even seeing it! Bring it on I say!!!

How can you compare an entire film to every other in the genre just by a 2 minute trailer? Maybe try watching the film before you comment and it will make you more informed and seem less like a dill? I think it looks good.

Looks like it was made by a group of high school students.

The scariest thing in that trailer was the news anchor's toupee.

Movie looks LEGIT... It's about time someone came out with a horror film worth watching during the Halloween season! Plus the girls in this movie are actually pretty hot;-) That's a change for once!

This movie looks incredible! It's got kind of the raw feel of an amateur film, but it still looks as though it was made very well and professionally. The acting looks great from the trailer. I definitely hope this comes to theaters.

Looks like a really fresh storyline. Oh, yeah...and totally scary! I can't wait to see it!

if they have to put people talking about how scary it is in the trailer, then it probably isn't worth a damn.
