Haley Joel Osment is Grown Up and Gay in Trailer for 'Sassy Pants'
Though he hasn't done much in the vein of acting in nearly a decade (his last high profile film was Secondhand Lions in 2003), it looks like Haley Joel Osment is on the verge of a grown-up comeback. We've previously heard that Osment was looking to return to the big screen a couple other projects, but it looks like we might see his return in a film called Sassy Pants. In the film about a teenage girl (Ashley Rickards) with a gay dad (Diedrich Bader) and overbearing mom, who is trying to get a job and go away to college, Osment plays the father's young boyfriend Chip Hardy sporting cut-off jean shorts. Here's the trailer for Coley Sohn's quirky comedy Sassy Pants, originally from THR:
Coley Sohn wrote and directed Sassy Pants which marks the return of child star Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) to the big screen like you've never seen him before as the young boyfriend to the father of a teenage girl (Ashley Rickards from Awkward) just trying to get a job and go away to college. Diedrich Bader (Office Space, Napoleon Dynamite) and Anna Gunn ("Breaking Bad") also co-star in the film which will premiere at the Santa Barbara Film Festival on January 28th, but doesn't have an official release date yet.
