Right now Iron Man 3 is shooting in North Carolina (the first trailer arrives next Monday with a sneak preview coming when Facebook fans do enough work), but writer Drew Pearce has done his part for the Marvel blockbuster. In fact, he's moved on to the next thing as Variety reports the screenwriter and Jason Segel just sold a pitch to 20th Century Fox for a feature film adaptation of the documentary The Other F Word. Segel will star in the film and also co-write the script which will adapt the documentary about aging punk rock musicians as they transition into fatherhood and try to maintain the contrast between their wild  lifestyle and the responsibilities of being a father. Yeah, that sounds like a solid comedy to me. More below!

Due to Segel's previous work on Forgetting Marshall and Pearce's British comedy sensibilities as the creator of the UK superhero comedy series "No Heroics," the film actually seems tailor made for Russell Brand to have some sort of involvement. Perhaps he can be one of the fathers along with Segel (if he in fact plays one of the aging musicians). Segel is coming off scripting last year's hit, acclaimed return of The Muppets, but he took some time to just appear in front of the camera for the forthcoming releases This is 40 from Judd Apatow and The End of the World for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It's nice to see that Pearce can jump back and forth between blockbusters like Iron Man 3 and Godzilla, to interesting fare like this.

Is this not exactly the same title and plot from the documentary with Mark Hoppus?
