Jeremy Renner & Matt Damon to Team Up in 'Bourne Legacy' Sequel?

As can be seen in the most recent kick-ass trailer for The Bourne Legacy, it's clear that the events of the spin-off starring Jeremy Renner take place around the same time of the original Bourne franchise starring Matt Damon, or at least during The Bourne Ultimatum. While we catch a glimpse of Damon on news reports in the trailer, we're not sure whether or not he'll actually show up in a small cameo. However, producer Frank Marshall recently spoke with Empire for a cover story and mentioned that his dream sequel to The Bourne Legacy would see Damon and Renner teaming up. That sounds pretty damn great!

Marshall said, "You see there are several different programmes in the movie with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.” Does that mean there's the potential for another spin-off from one of the other assassins that appears in the film to chase Renner's character? Perhaps, but the most exciting prospect is having Renner and Damon working together to take down this government program. The Bourne Legacy shows that this goes far beyond the hands of Treadstone, Jason Bourne's employers, so there's plenty more to learn. For now, we'll have to wait for The Bourne Legacy to hit theaters August 10th, after the recent slight release delay. Thoughts?

This will be the greatest thing to happen... Jeremy Renner is everywhere, i like the guy don't get me wrong but he is taking Mission Impossible series now Borne series and Possible Hawkeye spinoffs. I used to like asking people who would win in a fight Jack Bauer, James Bond, Jason Bourne, or Ethan Hunt...Cross two of those names off the list now. First True Couple Action Ever They do it deliberately, Holleywood always keep its surprises on, Definitly they would make it , But If Legacy Win First. Still love Bond movies definitely but Bourne have very different structure and style ,Jason Bourne is : more " Believable , more " Sympathetic " , more " Realistic " , more " Popular " , more " Touchable " , more " Dangerous " , more " Serious " , more " Adult " , more " Superior " action character Bourne is Not Bond Copycat. Jason isn't comedy , no , but maybe this is why Skyfall seems so action packed , with a more serious Bond . Cause they do see it as competition . Different studios I guess . As you see today in Sept, the movie got easily greenlighted ....

Matt Damon turned in one of the most satisfying trilogies of all time. I hope he leaves it at that.

I don't see how The Bourne Legacy, dropping the franchises lead actor and being released 5 years after the last sequel...will be able to maintain the same level of success, let alone surpass it. I think this is one that's going to end up getting lost in the shuffle and more or less ending the franchise.

I hope not Damon was such a whiner when Casino Royale came out....Oh they are copying Bourne and other hand wringing whiny statements The only thing he did not do was call for his 'mommy' to comfort him. I had no respect for him after that. I will go to see Bourne Legacy with Renner but the minute Damon sets his whinny little feet into a film I am out of there............

Was jeremy in the bourne ultimatum? I haven't seen the third installment in awhile, but now that I think about it, was he the sniper that killed off that reporter who was investigating the Blackbird case in the phone booth?
