Jesse Eisenberg in First Trailer for Sundance Selected 'Why Stop Now?'
When we last saw Jesse Eisenberg, he was desperately trying to get a bomb off of his chest in 30 Minutes or Less, and now The Social Network star is back on the big screen for the first time in 2012 with the Sundance selected film Why Stop Now? The film follows a college piano prodigy, who tries to check his mother (Melissa Leo) into rehab, but finds himself taken hostage by her drug dealer (Tracy Morgan) and swept along on a wild adventure. I'm not really sure what kind of story is being attempted, but it looks very quirky and strange. Morgan is doing his normal thing, Eisenberg is flustered, and well, it looks interesting?
Here's the first trailer for Phil Dorling and Ron Nyswaner's Why Stop Now? from Yahoo:
Why Stop Now? tells the bittersweet story of Eli Smith (Jesse Eisenberg), a piano prodigy, and his mother Penny (Melissa Leo) who despite her cheerful, loving disposition, struggles with drug addiction. On the day of his audition for a prestigious music program, Eli's mother plans to enter rehab, but a glitch in the system forces them to enlist the help of an unlikely ally, her drug dealer Sprinkles (Tracy Morgan). Phil Dorling co-directs the film with Ron Nyswaner who also wrote the screenplay. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and hits limited theaters later this summer starting August 17th. Worth a look?
