The Avengers

Briefly: It has been announced and/or confirmed by Deadline that the official release date for Marvel's The Avengers 2 is now set for May 1st, 2015. Only three years to go! Joss Whedon will be writing and directing the sequel to this year's ensemble superhero team-up box office smash. Pretty much exactly what we expected to see, following Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy in the next few years leading up to this (plus maybe Ant-Man?). Can we expect Thanos to be the (really) big, bad villain this time around? Possibly, but like with Loki they're never going to confirm until we're sitting in theaters at midnight on April 30th. Can't wait! Mark it down in the calendar.

It's funny - my roommate just got "THE INFINITY GAUNTLET" from the library, as sort of a review of a modern classic, & the possible source material of Whedon's next Avengers flick. I'll say this: having stopped reading comics BECAUSE of books like that, & reading it for the first time - it is without a doubt the WORST written, poorly structured, horribly scripted & two dimensional piece of slop I have ever sat through reading, if only to see which epic throwdown was going to be goofily transitioned into, to satiate juvenile fanboy fantasies. I imagine Joss will do just fine with it. All he has to do is rewrite the dialogue so these characters operate on not only a two-dimensional level, but a humorous, self-effacing one as well.

(Which is to say I can't wait to see what he does with it.)

I do not understand what device you are posting from that does not have a calender. It's not just for 1 year at a time you know, it goes on forever....and ever....

If they do a Guardians of the Galaxy(X)Avengers mash-up I am going to loose it (in a good way)!!!

It won't be ready by May 2014? It had better be at least four hours long.

I assume that now that Disney has annouced a theatrical release date for a movie that comes out in May 2015, i assume that means that they will probably annouce a full theatrical 2015 release date next for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 ?

Wow they are giving HULK the shaft with no movie. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Hawkeye or Blackwidow movie before another solo Hulk flick. And three years away? With his so called injury or marketing ploy??? Towdney Darsky Jr will be grandpa Rust Man by then. and Snicks on. Plane Jane Fury will be old enough to buy his movie ticket at the senior citizen discount rate. Hopefully Ruffalo will get his due with his version of a HULK movie by then 🙂

Its not that there giving Hulk the shaft,he has already had 2 movies of his own. They have to work on the other heroes too,but hopefully we'll see the green guy make a cameo or two.
