Matthew Lillard Joining Clint Eastwood for 'Trouble with the Curve'
Until his recent supporting turn in The Descendants, actor Matthew Lillard has only appeared in low profile films with his last mainstream turn coming in the form of Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. However, the star who found his fame skyrocket after Scream and Hackers is back on the scene after starring in the aforementioned much-buzzed about awards contender and that success has led him right into another promising role. EW reports Lillard is negotiating to join Clint Eastwood in the baseball centric drama Trouble with the Curve directed by the veteran actor's business partner Robert Lorenz. Read on!
It's not clear what role Lillard will play, but after his turn in the baseball centric comedy Summer Catch, there's a chance he might be taking the field again in this film. The film is said to follow an aging scout (Eastwood) coping with blindness who embarks on a trip with his daughter (Amy Adams) to evaluate a player in Atlanta. I'm willing to bet that a romance sparks between the daughter and baseball player, the role that just might belong to Lillard. Either way, I'm looking forward to a bit more of an impacting story than the one that came with J. Edgar, a very slow-burning film that essentially arrive with a thud.
