TI / Melissa Leo

There aren't too many talents out there who wouldn't jump at the chance to make a movie with Tom Cruise, and a couple more just lined up that very opportunity. First off, Deadline reports Melissa Leo will join Cruise in the Universal sci-i flick Oblivion from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski. The film follows the last man (Cruise) on a post-apocalyptic and nearly uninhabitable Earth, who stays behind to repair ships that hunt down and blast a virulent alien species. However, it's not clear what role Leo will be taking in the film. Also, remember the film won't see release until April 2013 over a year from now. More casting below!

In addition, while rapper T.I. hasn't exactly made the best choices to further his acting career in films like Takers and ATL, he did have a small role in American Gangster. And now, working with Tom Cruise seems to be another good choice as he recently interviewed at SXSW (via Comic Book Movie) and revealed that he has some sort of unknown role in We Mortals Are, the adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's novel All You Need is Kill. The film will have Cruise playing one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill and alien force. But when he dies on the battlefield, the soldier finds himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. It's Groundhog Day but with aliens and explosions. Both are quite the exciting returns to sci-fi for Cruise. Sound good?

Anyone else see T.I.'s death scene in Takers? Now that was funny. Dude cannot act. 50 Cent is a better actor.

TI did well in ATL, while his role was brief in American Gangster! Xerxexx, if he is such a bad actor, then why is he even being considered to star in  a movie with Cruise?think about that!

I can't answer that, that's a question better aimed at the casting director and director.  I think T.I. is a fairly bad actor and is little role in AG was not memorable and in Takers he really brought an already low movie even lower. Idris Elba, Paul Walker, and Matt Dillion were great as was Michael Ealy...but Chris Brown and T.I. ruined it with shitty acting. If T.I. shines I'll admit I'm wrong, but its doubtful,

TI 's roles were not memorable to you because you have to understand what his roles were pertaining to the film. In essence TI is and will always be a character actor for roles that defines his personality in eal life. It will be interesting to see what role this is in this We are Mortals movie...

He may surprise me...but I won't hold my breath.

actors working with Cruise usually do better (assuming TI has a significant role). I never thought Paula Patton would get a chance to scare screen with TC but she did fine in MI4.

is this based on the interview with TI or is he officially signed? If officially signed then good for him! Tom Cruise is awesome as always and the storyline for that movie sounds great too. Looking forward to it
