Now You See Me Trailer

"Whatever this grand trick is, it was designed a long time ago." Summit has finally debuted the first trailer for Now You See Me, the awesome illusionist heist movie directed by Louis Leterrier, of Incredible Hulk. The team is made up of Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson and perhaps even Michael Caine. They perform elaborate shows, rob banks during the show, and shower the money on the audience, setting the cops after them. Morgan Freeman and Mark Ruffalo also star, and all-in-all it looks like a fun time. I've been hooked since I first heard about this, and I'm looking forward to catching it.

Watch the first official trailer for Louis Leterrier's Now You See Me, originally from Yahoo:

We've been covering updates on Now You See Me for a while, originally written by Edward Ricourt and Boaz Yakin. The film shot on location in New York City, Las Vegas and New Orleans, and Louis Leterrier (Transporter 1 & 2, Unleashed, Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans) is directing. The cast is lead by Jesse Eisenberg, including Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Melanie Laurent, Dave Franco and Common. We posted some teaser art for this last year, and have been waiting for this trailer ever since. Summit will release Now You See Me in theaters on June 7th, 2013 next summer. Thoughts?

Looks fun.

Looks like it could be pretty terrible. Or pretty good. I'm leaning toward pretty terrible though.

Smurfman Sassafras on Nov 16, 2012

Oh my godddd the first 30 seconds got me in.

fem!anon on Nov 16, 2012

Oh wow, they got Morgan Freeman to do voice-over narration. That's new. Who would have thought of Morgan Freeman doing voice-over movie exposition?

Bobo_Vision on Nov 16, 2012

so, you're using a rehashed southpark joke?

beevis on Nov 16, 2012

Wow, condescending sarcasm being used to make a point in an internet comment. That's new. Who would have thought of using that to try and get a point across. Who even does that anymore? Wait a minute...oh my...

Thexn on Nov 16, 2012

wow, double condescending sarcasm on a message board. who would have guessed it. somebody pointing out something obvious someone else did and trying to make themselves in turn look quick and witty by projecting there own insecurities on that person! what an original thing to accomplish, who would have thought.... oh thats right....

I see what you did there! I got really bored by it, but I saw it!

DarkRaven18599 on Nov 17, 2012

I got bored with your mom last night!

todd on Nov 17, 2012

Ashes will do that to you. Hope you had fun screwing that rose bush we spread her on. Guess it was just another thorn-PRICK amongst many. 🙂

DarkRaven18599 on Nov 18, 2012

Wow. Utilizing wow as the word wow. Also, observation making. Also, children have weak arms. Wait. What?

Looks interesting, but kind of all over the place. Isn't this the movie The Chemical Brothers are scoring next? That was what I was most excited about when playing the trailer, but the music didn't sound like something they would create.

Chems1919 on Nov 16, 2012

i'm not sold....the part (of the trailer) from 15-40 seconds came off cheesy to me. it may be worth a watch, but it'll be a rental for me.

beevis on Nov 16, 2012

Are we allowed to use the term "rental" with movies anymore? Lord do I miss the old Brick & Mortar shops instead of this digital stuff.

Thexn on Nov 16, 2012

HA! in all honesty - i use the term "rental" to cover any movie i'll watch off of netflix....although, even if i wanted to use "brick and mortar", i couldn't - there aren't any left in my area. only option is redbox -which i'm not big on.

beevis on Nov 16, 2012

This is a movie which is going to rely heavily on it's twist in the plot, (or several), to keep the audience hooked. In between such flips in the story you're going to have to maintain interest by using good acting. Luckily, it seems they've managed to put together a cast who can do that. Now we just have to hope the storyline and the twists are up to the same caliber as those who will be revealing them. I'll see it, but it will be partially to see if I can figure it out before they tell us how, just like any good illusion show audience member does.

Thexn on Nov 16, 2012

I really hope they turn out to be just doing illusions, as opposed to actual magic, or using some kind of technology.

Craig on Nov 17, 2012

Um, did you watch the trailer? Seems pretty clear it's mostly about technology. I hope they don't pull the "actual magic" thing. Christopher Nolan barely managed it in The Prestige, but it's rarely been done well elsewhere.

Dan Stewart on Nov 28, 2012

I'm calling it now, space magician.

The Man Wonder on Nov 16, 2012

Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman as villains...i was so sold it was like Ebay passed by.......

Jericho on Nov 16, 2012

This movie has an amazing cast and looks very interesting. I can't wait to check it out.

Chris Groves on Nov 16, 2012

This looks pretty bad, actually. How exactly is this a must see?

Alex on Nov 17, 2012

The cast.

Craig on Nov 17, 2012

it's a time travel heist film

me on Nov 17, 2012

I dunno, I think I'd rather just watch The Prestige.

Magill Foote on Nov 17, 2012

Good thing I have MoviePass...for movies like this.

mrmonka on Nov 18, 2012

The twist is that they are actually Holograms.

Jesse Bangerter on Nov 18, 2012

"Are you watching closely" vs. "Look closely..." Narrated by an old pro, who knows how it all works. Weird lightning machine, that actually does real magic. Michael Caine. Switching chains with the guard, when the hero is in prison. Girl drowning in a glass water cage... I saw an advanced screening of this movie 6 years ago. I guess they changed the title though. Back then, it was called The Prestige.

Zen on Nov 19, 2012

so bank job meetrs prestige

Michael Baldwin on Nov 19, 2012

The twist is that M. Night Shyamalan actually directed this.

Tyler Hayes on Nov 20, 2012

Holy crap, I know (and can perform) the trick done from 0:13 to 0:15, now that kind of hooked me.
