The Amazing Spider-Man Trailer

"This life is not an easy one…" Sony has officially released the third & likely final trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man, also showing on Avengers this weekend, along with The Dark Knight Rises third & final trailer. It's honestly best to see this thing in 3D, because it has some amazing shots that will really pop in the third dimension. The trailer follows the second and first teaser for the new Spidey, starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary and Sally Field. Honestly, after this trailer, I don't know how anyone can't be pumped to see this!

Watch the third official trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man, in high def from Apple:

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Connors, his father's former partner.

Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man features Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field as Aunt May and Denis Leary as George Stacy. 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb is at the helm of this Spider-Man reboot, from a screenplay written by Alvin Sargent (Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 & 3), Steve Kloves (Harry Potter movies) and James Vanderbilt (The Rundown, Zodiac, The Losers). Sony/Columbia is bringing The Amazing Spider-Man to theaters in 3D on July 3rd this summer.

Totally. This spiderman looks better than all three of the other films combined!

I am really stoked to see this now...all of that looked fantastic.  I thought the effects in the Raimi movies were good, but these are to speak.

Cool. I gotta say, I really got on board after watching Andrew Garfield in The Social Network. I respect the guy. This all still seems a bit needless, but it looks EXCELLENT.

Wow. Such an awesome trailer! The movie has an organic tone to it. I think Spidey's jokes and more especially, his acrobatics, look extremely faithful to the character.

Shizzlefits on May 3, 2012

They tried to overall use less stunt doubles and CG when necessary so that the whole movie would feel down to earth, realistic, believable. Organic is the main goal, this trailer looks like it could be the conclusion of a movie series rather than the beginning which already has me excited for sequels and the whole series. I hope to see the sinister 6 by the end of this, I imagine that guy that conors was talking to is the next villain

Steven Morgan on May 5, 2012

Xerxexx on May 3, 2012

Count me in too.  I was impressed--an I've been giving the movie a lot of slack, since the cast and crew certainly were top-notch.  Dig the wisecracks, the web-swinging, the effects.  No gripes with the costume. This trailer was fantastic--and hopefully the finished film will be too.

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

I wasn't too keen on it until I read Garfield's reasoning to do the role.

Xerxexx on May 4, 2012

Now why couldn't they have shown THIS trailer in the beginning?! And another thing, the suit HAS grown on me--it reminds me of Ben Reilly's suit. Count me in too.

Big Boss on May 3, 2012

Honestly, the suit didn't bother me at all.  It's not like they put him in the black suit right from the get-go.  It works for me.

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

Wow! This flick does look more organic and has nowhere near the campy level of Raimi's version--and I did love the Raimi version! This flick will be AMAZING!

Spider on May 3, 2012

I'm starting to think Tobey Maguire was an odd selection for the first run at the Spider-Man franchise. Anyone else thinking that now? Andrew Garfield has the build I remember in the comics years ago.

Quanah on May 3, 2012

Oh ya I totally agree with you! But yet Tobey never Exactly did it for me to begin with I guess I just accepted him for the Time cause it's Spider-Man....I do think Andrew Fits the Part Perfectly!!!

N. on May 3, 2012

Milo Ventimiglia would have been the perfect Peter Parker 🙂

David Banner on May 4, 2012

Why use CGI? And the acting from Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are not good.

Jackmooney9 on May 3, 2012

Well, the good comments lasted while they could.

Dresden King on May 3, 2012

Yes I am actually Stunned that this Trailer has recieved so many Positive remarks!!!

N. on May 3, 2012

Well said, I was in shock when I didn't see pessimistic comments all over.

McWilly on May 4, 2012

Because it's really, really hard to convince the giant lizard men that live beneath the city to let you film them. Much less convince them to do what you ask while you film them. CGI is just much safer all around.

Scotty97 on May 3, 2012

Yep.  I mean, they must've had a casting call for tall lizard men with bad attitudes, right? Seriously though...what's with the CGI whining from some people?  It's now a major tool in the filmmaker's toolbox, and it certainly works well with movies such as this, if it is used properly. I mean, what do they want?  Cheap, shoddy VFX and bad bluescreen?

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

"Why use CGI?" Hmmm...well, because there was no other way to do quite a few of the effects?

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

Seriously, I completely agree Scopedog.  Asking a question like "Why use CGI?" when making a major superhero movie nowdays is like asking "Why use a camera to film the movie?", it's just plain stupid.  There aren't any major superhero movies, let alone any major action, adventure, sci-fi, or serious big budget movies of any type being made nowdays without CGI.  This is like people wanting to see Lou Ferrigno play the Hulk in the Avengers Movie.  It would have been freaking lame.  CGI is here, has been here for almost 20 years since freaking Jurassic Park.  Aaahh, fudge it. Frustration overload.

Thexn on May 11, 2012

This is the spider-man the world has been waiting for! You can suck it Raimi!!!!!

BinaryChaos on May 3, 2012

I am kind of excited about the movie, i hope they don't screw it up this time.

AHox on May 3, 2012

The green gas coming out of the Lizard's gas canisters (?) looks quite cheap. :S Movie looks great. Looking forward to it with TDKR and Prometheus this summer.

Razor on May 3, 2012

Wow! What does any of that crap actually have to do with spider man? I feel bad for these peoples future careers.

Jimmy Love on May 3, 2012

49 ALL has to do with Spiderman. You're it one of those people who have only had 5 hours of inaccurate Spiderman history shoved down your throat by Sam Raimi, are you?

Stavi on May 3, 2012

Oh yeah your right this crap is ssssoooooooo accurate!

Jimmy Love on May 4, 2012

Troll hard.....guessing you are seeing the dark knight rises 5 times in one weekend and want to make it clear that only one superhero movie can be good this summer when truly we can respect them all for what they are. Be glad we have superhero movies because they all used to be horrible or seen as not possible due to technological limits

Steven Morgan on May 5, 2012

LOL Batman is a Download! this not so spider man, spider man flick wont even rate that.

Jimmy Love on May 6, 2012

More interested in the Parker>Gwen story than the action and Lizard (which still looks bad).

Ryderup on May 3, 2012

True about Parker&Gwen story (GWEN FTW!). The battle with the Lizard doesn't look bad. This trailer looks amazing and i'm glad to see more and more people giving this movie a chance.

Tekaile Tana Davis on May 6, 2012

Raimi's trilogy was good for my child hood, but glad someone is doing the property the way it was meant to be done. With the right tone of not too dark, but not too campy. I am excited to see if they can make it to the sinister six

So your saying the trailers do not show all the scenes of the movie. WHAT A TWIST? you must be m night shamalyan

Steven Morgan on May 4, 2012

Well, it is only a 2+ minute trailer.  Lots of time in the movie to see if there's some daytime scenes.

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

TDKR trailer people should take notes on how to do a trailer exciting for a comic book movie. Amazing.

Hitmarkv on May 3, 2012

I'm with the guy who said meh.  Sure this trailer has action, but it pretty much told us the entire story, which isn't all that unique or interesting.  I don't think the movie will be bad, but I still the Dark Knight Rises trailer was far superior.  It built the mystery and suspense while at the same time hinting at things greater than itself. I guess my idea of excitement is different than most, since I found TDKR trailer to be much more exciting than this one.

Jordan Scott on May 3, 2012

"The Amazing Spider-Man" hints at things greater than itself, also: The theme is that we all have a piece missing in our lives; how we fill that void is how we define ourselves. Peter, who lost his parents, is quiet, insecure, and Spider-Man's strength is the PIECE he is lacking. Whereas Dr Connor literally embodies the theme.  And it doesn't build mystery? Please, spare me your lazy attempt to discredit this film because you're on Nolan's sack. TDKR is overrated and the trailer put me to sleep; it's obvious this isn't the original film Nolan wanted to make. (R.I.P. Heath)

BeepBeepRichie on May 4, 2012

Why can't we like both trailers for what they are, both have sense of mystery but this one was forced to be in your face since everyone was whining that it was the same story which the trailer proved it wasn't. The dark knight trailer also reveals a lot showing that bane will capture batman or wayne due to him being the 1% while he starts what is essentially project mayhem whom is looking for harvey dent or two face who is obviously still alive.

Steven Morgan on May 5, 2012

whoah sold

thebatman on May 3, 2012

whoah whoah God that was an awesome awesome trailer.  +10..+10

Tomboy69 on May 3, 2012

I didn't really like the first trailer because it seemed to actiony and out of context but now that I've seen the drama behind it I'm looking forward to Spidey. Hopefully it didn't give too much away.

si1ver on May 3, 2012

No Toby. I'm in.

Sonny Bonds on May 3, 2012

But Spider-Man 3 was so good, I want to see what happened with sandman blowing into the sunset(Sarcasm). I love Raimi, but do not like the fact that he wrote the movie with his brother and before it came out was all confident about it then after it came out quickly blamed it on Sony

Steven Morgan on May 5, 2012

Not really sold on the Lizard character (and Dylan Baker was better) or his appearance. But A. Garfield is a great choice, it looks very exciting and seems to have jettisoned the chronic campness of Raimi's versions. Also there's no weepy snaggletooth.

Max Renn on May 3, 2012

Wow, finally sold on this now!

MMAniac 911 on May 3, 2012

I just don't get the hunger for these superhero movies. Its blowing my mind really. Reboots en masse. Really. I know im in the minority just don't see how this 'looks' like a good movie?

Buzzfunk on May 3, 2012

I can only speak for myself, but super hero movies just make the kid inside of me go totally bonkers. I can't help it, I love this genre and have to watch them all.

SuicidalOptimist on May 4, 2012

85 could write a heap of papers on the "hunger for these superhero movies".  And to be frank, re-boots happen in comics--it's a given, really. Me personally, I like these films because, well, it's just damned nice to see characters I read in comics as a kid come to "life" and look a helluva lot better than the attempts that were made years ago (a couple succeeded, but others....nope).  That said, even though you might be in the minority, you raise a valid point.  And yeah, while the trailer did look impressive to me, I'll wait till the final film to pass judgement.

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

why can`t they ever keep his mask on, other than that looks more spidey than the last ones.

Loser on May 4, 2012

David Banner on May 4, 2012

If this is as good as it looks when it comes out, I will completely forget that those abortive films that Sam Raimi made even exist...on top of which, I will even forgive Sony Pictures for the crime of giving Spiderman to Sam Raimi in the first place!

Nobody on May 4, 2012

I'm really digging the cinematography in this.  Very crisp and bright and in full color.

Cody Thomason on May 4, 2012

Yep.  It sure as hell looks great--hopefully it will work well in 3D.

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

I'm really digging what I've seen so far and that knife joke made me lol at my desk at work, but I don't think the mythos of Spiderman really had much to do with his parents.  I remember hearing a lot about Aunt May and Uncle Ben during the comics and the animated series, but I don't remember him talking about his parents very much.  If that's his main drive in this film then it may take some getting used to.

peloquin on May 4, 2012

Peter's parents have been brought up in recent years in the comics, including a miniseries showing them in their lives as--nah, can't drop that one on you!

Scopedog on May 4, 2012

So far so good... I hope the story and everything is better than the previous saga.

El Gonzi on May 4, 2012

Going to be the best SpiderMan ever!!!

William Cingulda on May 4, 2012

Does any part of this movie take place during the daytime? Did film using sunlight at least once?

Todd on May 4, 2012

Not letting Marvel fool me anymore, it does look like best spidey yet, but still too much boring story like the rest i bet. I dont care about your parents, Aunt May or even Aunt Jemima, i want to see your enemies, and only one Lizard to fight. Its 2012, bring me real enemies! Nothing here but same old fight scenes just different character and CGI company. They just keep recycling b.s. cause they know it will sell.

Notimpressed on May 4, 2012

"if it ain't broke...." Marvel would say. I can dig what you're preaching, but it's about putting butts in seats, and if you can get Ma, Pa and the kiddies in at once, then "recycle" it is.

mooreworthy on May 4, 2012

It's not Marvel, it's Fox.

Sam on May 4, 2012

I've been hearing some hate towards this, but I'm extremely digging it. I'm a huge childhood Spidey fan and this is tone Spidey needs in today's environment. Raimi's was traditional Spidey, but made some moves that I was never down with like for one the whole incorrect Mary Jane depiction and casting for that matter.
