Just recently we learned that Tim Burton's Frankenweenie would be the first stop-motion animated and black and white film to ever hit IMAX screens. Now this week brings news of another first for IMAX as director Ridley Scott will have his first film hit the giant film format as Prometheus has been announced to be digitally-remastered for IMAX 3D, but it wasn't shot on IMAX stock. The film will hit IMAX screens day and date with the film's release on June 8th this summer, and as of now it's the only film within that month using the giant screen, so it should get a nice long ride.
