Red Band 'Magic Mike' Trailer Has Many Dudes' Butts for Everyone!

When your movie is about male strippers, there's only so much that can be shown to entice everyone to come see Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and more shake their asses and show off their muscles. That's why the Steven Soderbergh film Magic Mike has finally released this red band trailer which has plenty of dudes in thongs, bare-asses and (much to my chagrin) a hint of penis. I don't know what I was expecting, but there you have it. Though I'm not exactly the core demographic, the film looks like it could be fun with a decent story. Hopefully it's more than a male revue in theaters. Watch!

A young upstart male stripper (Alex Pettyfer) is taken under the wing of his more experienced colleagues.

Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Contagion, Out of Sight) and written by Reid Carolin. Channimg Tatum plays the titular male stripper in a story that draws from the actor's real-life experiences when he became an exotic male dancer at age 19. McConaughey plays a stripper named Dallas. Alex Pettyfer plays young up-and-coming dancer "The Kid" who becomes Magic Mike's protege and learns how to hustle on and off the stage. Warner Bros is bringing Magic Mike movie to theaters on June 29th.

Well, since there has been so many movies male oriented, especially for teen males, this will be a refreshing change for the ladies out and of course, a few men. At least for a movie and go out for a few drinks and have the usual meatheads hit on them. I don't want to stereotype, so I'm sure a few women do enjoy the action films too.

I never understood the appeal of male strippers, tbh. For one, guys in thongs are just...*shudder*. Secondly, it really doesn't leave anything to the imagination, now does it, which ultimately makes it boring to me. Now, a hot dude in just jeans or a suit with the top two buttons of the shirt unbuttoned...unnngghh! *fans self* I really have no idea how interesting, dramatic and/or deep the life story of a stripper could possibly be; from the looks of the trailer it doesn't seem like much more than a girls-night-out-nothing-but-a-good-time-fluff-piece (generally nothing wrong with that), but it is still Soderbergh soooo...I dunno. I'm so torn!

  If you notice, he's the one on the end at the end of the trailer. Bad pun, but he appears a bit stiff compared to the other guys. haha

Okay, everything I've seen and read has a release date of June 29th, including this article...so why does the trailer say July 11th, is this for release overseas or something???? I need to know, eager mom's night out participants have important plans to make! Lol!
