Indie Trailer Sunday: 'Rising From Ashes' - A Rwandan Cycling Doc
The Impossible Triumph of Team Rwanda. Today's indie trailer is for a documentary called Rising From Ashes, about the National Cycling Team from Rwanda, Africa that went on to compete in the London 2012 Olympics. The story is that cycling legend Jock Boyer moved to Rwanda in 2005 and helped cultivate an amazingly talented team of athletes from the "ashes of their past" and the horrible genocide of the 1990s. Forest Whitaker is an executive producer and the narrator. I hadn't heard much about this before, but after watching the trailer I knew I needed to show it, this looks outstanding. A film about hope and triumph.
