Rosamund Pike Joins Pegg & Frost in Edgar Wright's 'World's End'
A very textual poster for The World's End, the third film in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy from Edgar Wright, premiered at Comic-Con, though we unfortunately didn't get our hands on one. But the good news is the film gearing towards production with a sexy new cast member in tow. Baz Bamigboye, always well-informed on British films, has word that Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day, An Education) is joining the cast in an unspecified role. Pike hasn't had much a presence in comedy besides Johnny English Reborn, so it'll be interesting to see how she meshes with the seasoned duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Read on!
For a refresher, here's the official synopsis: Twenty years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
The film begins shooting in Britain next month, so we'll likely here about more casting soon, hopefully with some familiar faces from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz showing up with more of the finest talent the UK has to offer. Though this is likely not the last film Pegg and Frost will do together, knowing that this trilogy is coming to an end will be somewhat bittersweet. Either way, we can wait to see this flick in theaters.

A little Pike never hurt nobody.

I find her a nearly insufferable bore to watch, but I trust Edgar Wright with casting completely so I'm sure he'll bring out the best in her.
