This Must Be the Place

We've already seen a couple of trailers for This Must Be the Place as it makes the rounds at various film festivals. Well, now the film featuring Sean Penn as a man who scours the United States to find the ex-Nazi war criminal who killed his father and track down and confront his father's nemesis has a release date and a theatrical trailer to go with it. I'm not so sure I've gotten over seeing Penn in drag, especially when that characters also happens to be a retired rock star. Reviews on the film have been mixed, but Penn always puts hard work into his performances, and that will likely make it worth checking out. Watch the trailer!

Here's the newest trailer for Paolo Sorrentino's This Must Be The Place, found on YouTube:

A retired rock star sets out to find his father's executioner, an ex-Nazi war criminal hiding out in the U.S.

This Must Be The Place is written and directed by Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, making his English language debut after directing One Man Up, The Consequences of Love, The Family Friend and Il Divo previously. The screenplay was co-written by Sorrentino and Umberto Contarello (The Missing Star, A Question of the Heart, The Passion). This first premiered back at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011. Trinity Entertainment is finally bringing This Must Be The Place to theaters on November 2nd this fall. Anyone?

was about to comment the very same thing.
      • My friend says he has had it for months, giving me a loan of it for the weekend.
    • Unless it was release in other countries already, it has not been released on Blu-Ray or DVD yet. It hits theaters in November, but has been at several film festivals over the past year or so.

I'm really not sure what to think of this still. I want it to be good, and it looks like it could be great. but I am worried about one thing Robert Downey Jr once said about him, something about "going full retard".....hahah

I've read the posts, but how long has this been kicking around? Two or three years? Still, I definitely want to see it.
