To be frank, Sienna Miller hasn't really done much to impress us, but it looks like that could change when she takes on the iconic role of Tippi Hedren in the upcoming HBO film The Girl that details the behind-the-scenes turmoil during the making of Alfred Hitchcock's classic movie The Birds. The trailers hint at an excellent performance, and now Deadline reports that she'll have another opportunity to redeem herself in our eyes as she has joined the cat of Moneyball director Bennett Miller's insane real-life wrestling drama Foxcatcher, which stars Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo and 2012's golden boy, Channing Tatum. Read on!
Foxcatcher tells the true story of John du Pont (Carell), a rich heir to a chemical company who built a wrestling training facility called Team Foxcatcher in Pennsylvania in the 1990s, and ended up shooting and killing his friend, Olympic wrestler David Schultz (Ruffalo), in front of Schultz's wife and the head of du Pont's security team with no listed motive or explanation. Du Pont then locked himself in his mansion for two days before the police eventually detained him. This story is one of those "truth is stranger than fiction" scenarios, and even though Miller hasn't made us take notice before, maybe this kind of material and Miller's strong direction will bring out the best in her.
