We've already heard that the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is officially in development and moving towards production. Most of the original cast is said to be returning with some unknown new cast members, and now a press release reveals the film will hit theaters on October 4th, 2013. Plot details are being kept under tight wraps at the moment, but the second volume of the graphic novel follows Dwight (Clive Owen) stuck with only a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, thinking of all the ways he's screwed up and looking for one chance to wipe the slate clean and dig his way out of the gray hell that is his life.
The press release also confirms that Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba will reprise their roles from the original 2005 film, but this time they and the striking visuals from the graphic novel will come to audiences in 3D. Rodriguez said he had spoken to Rourke already, but apparently the interested Rosario Dawson isn't confirmed yet. Either way, this kind of progress is absolutely exciting. While the script is being kept secret for now, and we don't know that the content in the graphic novel itself will be all that's on display in the fall of 2013, but the remaining cast will be announced shortly with some huge names expected to fill the roles of Sin Ciy’s newest characters who have not yet been brought to life on the big screen. Stay tuned.
