Sorry, Mike Myers Has Not Completed a Script for 'Wayne's World 3'

Today there's a story going around the web, purporting to originate from Entertainment Weekly, that Mike Myers has completed a script for Wayne's World 3. Personally, I'm one of the people who would be most enthralled with this news, but sadly, the Internet is now part of another hoax. The story claims to originate from a real EW reporter named Laura Hertzfeld, but any follow-up resulted in dead ends due to a faulty e-mail address from where the story came. And then, after contacting another EW reporter, Anthony Breznican, who talked to Hertzfeld and revealed, "She had no idea, so it's a hoax from our perspective."
Sorry, folks. But Wayne's World 3 is not close to being a reality yet. Though with revivals like Bill & Ted seemingly on the horizon, anything can happen. After all, I think Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey could use another live-action hit, and tapping the well might be the best option. In case inquiring minds want to know, here's what the plot description for Wayne'>s World 3 looked like in this faux e-mail:
Mike Myers has announced that he has finished an early draft of 'Wayne's World 3.' The story is suppose to focus on Wayne and Garth coping with the new era of music, transitioning from access cable to streaming internet (ala Youtube) and Wayne balancing his marriage to Cassandra.
Sounds like a logline that anyone could make up, which was another reason we were skeptical to begin with. But at the very least, maybe any excitement that results from this fake story will show Myers, Carvey and "Saturday Night Live" creator and the films' producer Lorne Michaels just how much people want it. We can definitely keep dreaming. In the meantime, watch Wayne and Garth's return to "Saturday Night Live" in 2011 to mock the Academy Awards. Do you want a Wayne's World 3?
