So far we've featured SoundWorks Collection's behind-the-scenes featurettes diving into the sound of films like John Carter, The Hunger Games, The Avengers and Prometheus. However, live-action films have the benefit of capturing sound on location whilst filming (though there's plenty done in post-production). Meanwhile, animated films must create every single sound from scratch and without the help of a filming location, ambient sound and more. That's why this look into The Sound of Brave, the charming fairytale from Pixar, is so fascinating. From the sounds of bears to the more subtle sounds of archery, it's hard work.
Here's the SoundWorks Collections featurette The Sound of Brave via Pixar Planet:
Brave was originally being directed by Pixar's first female director, Brenda Chapman (of Prince of Egypt), but she was then joined by Mark Andrews (of the short One Man Band) who took over to help finish the movie. Disney released Pixar's Brave in theaters everywhere this summer on June 22nd in 3D. Seeing it?
