Ever since that casting of Chris Evans in Bong Joon-ho's new project Snow Piercer, I've been hearing rumors that he's lined up quite a big, fantastic cast. Variety reveals two more names, the first is Jamie Bell, who played Tintin in Spielberg's Golden Globe-winning movie, and Tilda Swinton, who should've won a Golden Globe for her performance in We Need to Talk About Kevin. This is the new post-apocalyptic sci-fi film set on a train in a future world covered entirely by snow, being directed by Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, of The Host and Mother. Evans is also in the cast, and I'm sure many more folks yet to be revealed.
Variety describes Snow Piercer as: set in a world covered in snow and ice, the story follows a train full of travelers who struggle to co-exist. While we don't know any of the roles or who is playing what, I'm just intrigued to see the kind of diverse, ensemble cast that Bong Joon-ho is putting together. And it's interesting to see who he's choosing when he can cast an English-language cast like this. Park Chan-wook is producing through Moho Films, but it doesn't have a distributor yet. Production is expected to start in March. We'll continue to keep you updated on Snow Piercer as casting continues, as I'm sure there are a few more names in this yet to be revealed. This is an upcoming sci-fi project I'm keeping a very close eye on. Sound good?
