Tom Cruise Gets Plenty of Action in Japanese 'Jack Reacher' Trailer

It's worth it just to hear the voiceover saying Jack Reacher. Later this month Tom Cruise gets back into full action mode for the holidays again. Last Christmas he took on Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and this summer he sang his heart out in Rock of Ages. Now he's playing a bit of an anti-hero as the title character who doesn't care about the law. There's a lot more action in this new Japanese trailer, and it gives us a little bit more of the story as well. There's plenty of new footage, and if Christopher McQuarrie landing Mission: Impossible 5 is any indicator, this could be a fun romp in theaters in a few weeks. Watch!

Then he says: Get Reacher for me. And sure enough, ex-military investigator Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) knows the killer is a trained military sniper who never should have missed a shot. Reacher is certain something is not right–and soon the slam-dunk case explodes. Christopher McQuarrie (director The Way of the Gun and writer of The Usual Suspects) writers and directs this film which also stars Werner Herzog, Rosamund Pike and Richard Jenkins. Paramount Pictures is sending Jack Reacher to theaters on December 21st this year.

The Japanese name for this movie is called "OUTLAW" not "Jack Reacher" like its names here.

Scared sh*tless voice: "There's this guy... He doesn't care about proof. He doesn't care about the law. You can't protect me. No one can" And then it shows a close-up of Tom Cruise. (First Jack Reacher trailer) Somehow, that feels like an anti-climax to me. Sure, I like Cruise as an action-star. I even liked his surprisingly good performance as an ice-cold killer in Collateral. But somehow he didn't use his career to establish as a convincing bas-ass. On the other hand, this Jack Reacher stuff looks kinda different than his usual drill. So I am gonna see this.

I doubt even the gayest man in America wants to suck enough corporate dick to promote this movie to maintain your insider status with Hollywood. This movie is going to suck and you know it. You really should consider a new line of work if your job makes you kiss Tom Cruise's tiny little ass.
