Warner Bros Officially Sets 'Cloud Atlas' Movie for October Opening
Briefly: We have yet to see a trailer, or even a photo or a frame of the movie yet, but Warner Bros has officially set the Wachowskis' & Tom Tywker's Cloud Atlas for release on October 26th later this year. It had been rumored the film would get a late 2012 opening date (even December), but with a press release via BoxOffice.com confirming WB's release plans (early 2013) in the UK, France, Spain, Australia and Japan as well, it's now official. "Audiences who have seen an early screening of Cloud Atlas have been elated by its powerful and inspiring story, as well as its breathtaking visuals. An October release in North America is the perfect window to showcase this epic film," said Warner Bros' President of Distribution Dan Fellman.
Cloud Atlas is the ambitious adaptation of David Mitchell's novel, co-directed by Andy & Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer, that features six century-spanning storylines, all using the same actors playing characters across time and space. The cast includes Tom Hanks, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Keith David, Ben Whishaw, Jim Broadbent, James D'Arcy and Xun Zhou as Yoona-939. Cloud Atlas explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. We'll definitely keep you updated on this one for sure!
