Frankenweenie IMAX PSA

You don't want to hear from Mr. Whiskers, do you?! Disney recently debuted this fantastic new PSA teaser that will be playing before IMAX movies. The spot features characters from Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, lead by Victor, his dog Sparky, and his family, in reminding audiences to "PLEASE silence your cellphones and DO NOT text." Always happy to see movie theaters actually telling audiences this as loudly and clearly as possible. I just hope they uphold this policy. This is a lot of fun and I'm glad Disney put this together with IMAX. Now if only every movie theater, besides the Alamo Drafthouse, would run more reminders like this!

Here's the new IMAX "policy teaser" brought to you by Frankenweenie, debuted by Disney on YouTube:

Note: It was mentioned by SlashFilm that they also have one of these for Finding Nemo 3D - see it here.

Young Victor (Charlie Tahan) conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. Based on Burton's original 1984 B&W short.

Frankenweenie was directed by mastermind Tim Burton, who's brought us Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Big Fish, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and The Nightmare Before Christmas previously. The screenplay was written by John August (Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, The Nines) from a story by Tim Burton & Leonard Ripps. Disney is bringing Frankenweenie to theaters everywhere in 3D starting on October 5th later this year. Watch the full theatrical trailer here.
