The Avengers - Hulk!

"Every team needs a captain!" Hell yea, it's almost here, Marvel's The Avengers! This is definitely one of those pump-you-up kind of TV spots, coming in at a full 60-seconds long, found via SuperHeroHype. We've already seen numerous TV spots, trailers, a Super Bowl spot, and more for the Joss Whedon's Avengers, but this one focuses on Captain America (played by Chris Evans, of course) now in the modern world trying to fit in with an odd group of superheroes. There's some rad music, lots of action, Hulk screaming louder than I've heard before (image from CBM), it's looking pretty damn good, I can't wait to see this. What about you?

Watch the latest 60-second TV spot for Marvel's The Avengers, originally found by SuperHeroHype:

Here's the new "Hulk, Smash!" TV spot for Marvel's The Avengers, found by ComicBookMovie:

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. The star studded cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård who are reprising their respective roles from Thor. Marvel's The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon (Serenity), hits theaters everywhere May 4th, 2012. You can watch the first trailer here, the Super Bowl spot here, or the newest theatrical trailer here.

this was aired on disney XD channels so they removed the part where tony says "playboy" ūüėÄ

I was wondering where that part went. Still awesome.

disney is weak hope this movie is good

I see they still can't make the Hulk looking anything other than stretchy, CGI, rubbish. You'd think with the budget they have they'd be able to get ILM to actually make him look 'real.'

Jezebel on Apr 5, 2012

5

its really difficult to make a humanoid look real. your eyes are too used to seeing people, so any CGI Hulk with look a little off. the closet thing to realistic "humanoids" are the Na'vi from Avatar, but they looked so real because they were in a completely CGI environment

Jurassic_Max on Apr 5, 2012

and of course, good ways to hide how odd they look is to shoot scenes at night, limit the amount of interaction with live (non-CG) actors, distort the picture with smoke, fire and odd percussion waves (or whatever those things were) or just hide the creature from view all together

Boohoo! Looks fine to me.

 ILM rocks

Ang Lee's Hulk looked better. Except for the purple pants.

Jezebel on Apr 5, 2012

10

no it didn't. thats one of the most inaccurate statements that i've ever heard. Ang Lee's Hulk looked like a cartoon.

Jurassic_Max on Apr 5, 2012

11

Perhaps in some shots. But in others such as once he ends up in san fransico those scenes he looks better than the cgi hulk in the incredible hulk that came years later.

terni on Apr 7, 2012

12

i dont think it look better than this but it looked better than the previous Hulk film

Brandon V. Fletcher on Apr 6, 2012

I thought The Incredible Hulk looked better, the muted green was a lot more plausible and he looked a lot more intimidating. Then again I can't imagine them advertising it on the Disney channel. A younger target audience could explain why he's so bright and plush

Richie G on Apr 6, 2012

14

its not the color. its the textures. his skin looked like clay. Even though his skin was super green in glowy in the the Ang Lee version, it still looked like skin.

Brandon V. Fletcher on Apr 6, 2012

15

I don't know you guys, I thought that early on, but as they've been finalizing the cg I think he's starting to look very tangible and realistic. I think the low resolution on these clips takes away from that. Have you seen that solo pic of him that just came out? Looks fantastic.

kewl.

Xerxexx on Apr 5, 2012

Agreed.  I dig Hulk's grin when Cap says, "Hulk--smash!" ....keeping the fingers crossed for this film.  I could give a fig about how Cap's costume looks and why Thor's wearing a helmet or some other stupid nonsense.  I just hope for a great film, or a solid, fun movie.

Scopedog on Apr 6, 2012

ok i can ignore the helmet now...this looked gooooooooood

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Wolvie09/news/?a=57493 There's already another cool spot out we get to hear captain america yelling hulk smash in this one I really can't wait for this movie

No more trailers for me. Im waiting for May 4th!

ur_babys_daddy on Apr 5, 2012

Cap's helmet looks like a cheap, goofy Halloween costume. Why couldn't Hollywood just do Bryan Hitch's design? I'll wait for DVD since this looks like a made for tv movie anyways.

Christopher Batty on Apr 6, 2012

22

Their abilities are so uneven I don't see how this can work. The Hulk could take care of this all by himself.

Michael P. Shipley on Apr 6, 2012

23

agree. what the hell is Cap America and especially Black Widow doing there when they have Hulk, a god like Thor and an armored Iron Man?

Ryderup on Apr 6, 2012

24

Leadership, support, team cohesion, etc. The main premise of the film is that there's heavy-hitters, but they need to learn to collaborate with the magic of teamwork and friendship. Hawkeye does seem pretty superfluous, though.

Richard Roe on Apr 7, 2012

Meh.

This looks great! Hulk looks BadA$$! Hope the movie is as good as the trailers.

27

STOP! Please, just.... stop. No more until the movie actually arrives.

Agent Kid Society on Apr 6, 2012

28

I know! Sadly I agree. I keep telling myself I need to stop watching more tv spots or I'm gonna see all the key awe-striking moments in the film from just watching the trailers. But I can't help myself, haha

JBrotsis on Apr 10, 2012

29

I like the Hulk the best because he's mental.

Crapola on Apr 6, 2012

30

Why did they change the hulk again?  I liked Edward Norton.

Marc Callado on Apr 6, 2012

31

Because Edward Norton is a controlling non team player! Its better for having ditched him.

Jimmy Love on Apr 6, 2012

32

How do you know this? Is there an article about it?

Michael P. Shipley on Apr 7, 2012

33

Not that norton isn't a great actor, but ruffalo fits the role way more! If you think about it, the Hulk is virtually an adaption of Dr. Jekle & Mr. Hyde and really all you need is an actor to play bruce banner and Hulk is then a totally different person with his own fighting skills and character attitude, and ruffalo appeals more as a gamma radiation scientist. Plus when banner changes to hulk (and the movie appeals more to my opinion I'm stating) but the hulk should have characteristic features/resemblance that relate to banner, which this hulk does to ruffalo's facial features.

JBrotsis on Apr 10, 2012

So is ILM really doing all of the effects for the Avengers movie?I thought Disney had their own effects team...
