Dark Shadows

The full length trailer for Dark Shadows has effectively gotten my interested in the horror comedy and will hopefully renew my faith in director Tim Burton as it seems to be a return to his quirky, but dark comedic roots from films like Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. Now we have a cool featurette for the film which takes a short look back at the history of the vampire on film before diving into some behind-the-scenes footage including our first look at a bit part featuring past Dracula, Christopher Lee, sharing the screen with Johnny Depp again and also Easter eggs for fans of the original Dark Shadows series.

Here's the featurette for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows originally from Apple:

A gothic-horror tale centering on the life of 200 year old vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts as master of Collinwood Manor in Collinsport, Maine.

Dark Shadows is directed by imaginative filmmaker Tim Burton, of films including Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland.. He's directing from a script by author-turned-writer Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) based on the cult ABC TV series created by Dan Curtis. Warner Bros is bringing Dark Shadows to theaters everywhere starting May 11th this summer. So how does that look?

keep in mind Ehsan, Dark shadows is technically a remake to a TV show from 1966-1971 then two attempted revivals of the show in 1991 and 2004 all with the same theme.......

I am SO conflicted by this movie. I want to give Burton the high hat for good and a Depp a slap for perpetuating his flicks, but this actually seems fun and...well....better than recent Burton fare, though thats not saying much.

i have a lot of faith seeing as how both Depp and Burton announced how they are such big fans of the original show.....

Besides the Rum Diary Johnny Depp hasen't made a decent movie in a few years, but this looks like a good time, i'm excited
  • I actually think this looks okay and I don't even like the sad kid Tim Burton, with all his put on gothicness.

Nah, I'll wait and see what his Captain Jack Tonto is like instead.
