In case you're out of the loop, Dredd 3D had a screening at Comic-Con and we were there to catch the brutal, bloody comic book adpatation that has a few hiccups, but delivers a decent action film that blows Sylvester Stallone's shiny, plastic version from the 90's out of the water (for more watch our video blog here). Now the film is just over a month away from release and it's time to get audiences interested in the helmeted hero again with a bit of look back at the character and his comic history. This new featurette comes with star Karl Urban, comic creator John Wagner, writer/producer Alex Garland and more.

Here's the UK featurette for Pete Travis' Dredd 3D from Yahoo UK (via Daily Motion):

Dredd takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring Dredd to life as a futuristic neo-noir action movie that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's revered 2000 AD comic strip. Dredd 3D is set for release everywhere starting September 21st.

  • This is a must see for me..
I am ready for this now!

The premise is a rip off of "The Raid" film. I'm not paying to see this highly unoriginal film.
    • Drokk
Wrong, this was in post production before the Raid came out. Get your facts straight.
    • Do some research before randomly accusing films of 'ripping off' other films.
  • SexyAnnie
Dredd is about as interesting as Daredevil and Astro Boy are in my books. Too bad the sexy eat with aspoon Karl Urban is in it: Damn!
  • I can't wait for this one. Hope that the positive reviews and buzz keep pouring in. Really hoping that Lionsgate attaches a trailer to The Expendables 2 and ramps up the marketing in a major way. All signs point to them having a damn good movie on their hands.
