Moonrise Kingdom

Since the year 2011 came without a Wes Anderson film, it's good to know that 2012 brings us Moonrise Kingdom. As we've come to expect from the director of The Royal Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox, he's bringing a spectacular cast with him that includes Bill Murray, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman. The story follows a young boy and girl (newcomers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) who fall in love then run away together and a search commences for them in a 1960's New England town. Watch the trailer below now!

Here's the first trailer for Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom, originally from Apple:

Moonrise Kingdom is directed by Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Fantastic Mr. Fox) who also wrote the script with Roman Coppola (The Darjeeling Limited). The film features an all-star cast that includes Bill Murray, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman surrounding fresh young actors Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward. Focus Features is distributing the film which is slated to hit theaters on May 25th, 2012. Good?

  • Looks great!
  • Seems a bit yellow-ish to me colourwise, but that cast, soundtrack and delicious touch of Anderson-madness totally make up for it. Strongly looking forward to this.

So excited! I've been in withdrawal ever since Darjeeling Limited. Fantastic Mr. Fox didn't really do it for me.

i dont like his style looks laghable

That's kind of the point. He always has a subtle sense of humor in whatever is going on, and its not always just the situation, but the style in which he shoots it. That's one of the things I love about his films.
  • grimjob
I love his movies. One of my favorite filmmakers.

I just noticed that Wes Anderson movies are sort of like Coen Bros. movies without the shocking tragedy.
