We've already gotten a tease of the film, but now the real deal is here as the first official trailer for the 2011 Sundance selected film Sound of My Voice is here. Written by and starring Brit Marling (who also wrote and starred in another Sundance favorite Another Earth), the film follows Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a young Los Angeles couple, infiltrating the underworld of a cult led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Marling). Intent on exposing Maaggie for a fraud, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective as they slowly unravel the mysteries of Maggie’s past. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for Zal Batmanglij's Sound Of My Voice, originally in high def via Apple:
A journalist and friend get pulled in while investigating a cult whose leader claims to be from the future.
Sound Of My Voice is directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Zal Batmanglij, making his feature debut after the sci-fi short The Recordist previously. The screenplay was co-written by Batmanglij and the film's star, Brit Marling. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year and was acquired much later on by Fox Searchlight. Sound Of My Voice will be arriving in limited theaters starting April 27th this spring. For more info on the film, visit their official website, where they'll reveal more leading up to the release.
