Zero Dark Thirty TV Spot

"You may know how it ended… this is how it happened." Perfectly timed with their unveiling to critics last night (which I was at), Columbia Pictures has revealed the first TV spot for Kathryn Bigelow & Mark Boal's Zero Dark Thirty, the hunt for Osama bin Laden movie. Starring mainly Jessica Chastain as one of the CIA experts hunting bin Laden, the over-2-hour movie is a sprawling, fascinating, riveting account of the intelligence and individuals dedicated to finding this terrorist. Chastain should get an Oscar nom at least, she's damn good, but stand outs include Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt and Mark Strong too. Worth seeing!

Watch the first official TV spot for Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, found on YouTube:

A break in the manhunt for Osama bin Laden is the backdrop for the gripping story about the combined efforts of an extraordinary group of Navy SEALS. About the most daring military op of our generation.

Zero Dark Thirty, which has gone under the title Kill Bin Laden, is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow, of Near Dark, Blue Steel, Point Break, Strange Days, K-19, Mission Zero and The Hurt Locker previously. The script was written by her partner, Oscar winner Mark Boal, a former photojournalist embedded in the Iraq War, who went on to write The Hurt Locker for Bigelow. Columbia Pictures will be releasing Zero Dark Thirty in limited theaters starting December 19th next month. Planning to see it?

Should it say 'loosely based on a true story'? I'd like to see how they handle the strange Viking funeral they gave Osie B.
