Watch: Full Length Trailer for Wong Kar-Wai's 'The Grandmasters'
Almost a year and a half ago we got a teaser trailer for Wong Kar Wai's The Grandmasters, an upcoming martial arts project about Ip Man, the legendary martial arts grand master who trained Bruce Lee, but we haven't heard anything since then. Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi star in the film that looks like it has visuals as impressive as the kung fu fighting within. This is an international trailer that gives a December release, but we're not sure if that means we'll see The Grandmasters here in the States before 2012 is over. Either way, this looks like a fantastic foreign film that deserves some attention if it gets a theatrical release.
The story of martial arts grand master Ip Man (Tony Leung Chiu Wai), the man who trained Bruce Lee.
The Grandmasters is directed by highly acclaimed Chinese filmmaker Wong Kar Wai, of films including Chungking Express, Ashes of Time, Happy Together, In the Mood for Love, 2046 and My Blueberry Nights previously. This isn't set for release in China until 2012 and although Annapurna Pictures has US rights, we don't know when we'll see it here in the United States. Stay tuned and check out: Wong Kar Wai News.
