The Giant Mechanical Man Trailer

"Life is crazy, right?" Despite that unique title, this is actually a kind of quirky indie romantic comedy, starring Jenna Fischer as a young woman who has lost her way in life. The film is titled The Giant Mechanical Man, written and directed by Lee Kirk, and stars Fischer as well as Topher Grace, with freaky long hair, Malin Akerman, Chris Messina, Bob Odenkirk and Lucy Punch. This looks a bit funky with the giant mechanical man that the title refers to, but I think it also shows how underrated of an actor Chris Messina is, that he can play something odd like this and still do a great job. Give it a look below.

Watch the first official trailer for Lee Kirk's The Giant Mechanical Man, in high def from Yahoo:

An introverted woman who lacks direction falls in love with a silver-painted street performer in Chicago.

The Giant Mechanical Man is written and directed by Lee Kirk, making his directorial debut after writing, and appearing in, various shorts and films including Pants on Fire in '08. He is married to Jenna Fischer, who produced the film and of course stars in it. This hasn't premiered at any festivals yet and doesn't have a release, but Tribeca is distributing and it is playing at the Tribeca Film Festival, so we'll keep you updated.

check out "sunshine cleaning"......i liked it.
      • The Shoes Dude
I also liked Sunshine Cleaning, but I'm pretty sure Jenna Fischer is nowhere to be seen in it, hahah. Maybe you're confusing her with Emily Blunt or Amy Adams? I would suggest Walk Hard. That's a pretty damn funny and underrated comedy and she's great in it.

you're right - JF looks so much like AA i just got the names and faces mixed up - my bad!

    Topher's hair...
  • Bobby
    This looks super gay.
  • I am a big fan of Jenna Fisher!..wish this movie would be super great!
  • The guy going motivational speaking rubbish, most of me wants to grab him by his hair and repeatedly stab his face with a small knife until one of those frantic jabs pierces his eye and he can't annoy me any more. Apart from that I'll enjoy the film I think.

JF will make this a good film.

Looks like Jenna Fischer and Chris Messina have good chemistry. The movie, I don't know, could be good, but the cast is great! I'll watch to see how it all plays out!
    • RidgeRacer4
Agreed! Plus Messina is always great (he's the one thing that made that movie 'Devil' any good) and glad to see him getting more work. And how can you not just love Fischer?:P
  • Burp69
Nice Jenna Fischer as usual. But it's just another supergay film for my wife :(
  • Zade_92
this has grasped a tiny thread of my interest, maybe ill see it on hbo some day
  • Angry Chief
I'll go see this. A lot of the higher budget stuff has been disappointing lately.

Looks really standard unfortunately, funny to see topher grace playing a really dumbed-down version of Tom Cruise's role from magnolia.
  • First World Problems the movie...the kind of crap catered to people who tweet about how great the OWS movement is on their $500 iPads
    • The first world has all the problems, what to wear? What fancy food to buy? Which car to drive? Such drama. Very hard to live unlike the 3rd world, no problems like that.
