The Iceman

Though news on the project hadn't been heard since 2010, late last year, The Iceman got an official poster with Michael Shannon as the titular killer, Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski, a mafia hit man who murdered at least 100 people, including at least 50 vagrants before he was 18 years old. Ray Liotta, Chris  Evans (looking really disheveled and creepy), David Schwimmer and Winona Ryder co-star in the film which will premiere next month at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, so stay tuned for our coverage. In the meantime, the first trailer has been released ahead of the film's festival premiere. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Ariel Vroman's The Iceman, originally from Apple:

Ariel Vroman directed The Iceman and also wrote the script with Morgan Land based on Anthony Bruno's biography The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer. The film follows Richard Kuklinski, loving husband, devoted father and ruthless killer. He is believed to have killed at least 100 people between 1964 and 1986, including more than 50 vagrants before he was 18-years old. Michael Shannon takes the title role with Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer and Winona Ryder round out the supporting cast. The film will play the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival next month, but has no official US release date yet.

in the avengers end credits scene you see captain america with his hands covering his face. This must clearly be the beard he was hiding
    • beevis
      WTF are you talking about?
      • That shot the above scene just two weeks before the films release which is why Evan's is holding his hand in front of his face for the whole scene. He most likely grew a beard and was shooting this film when Joss asked the cast to return and shoot the Shawarma scene.

chris evans in the end credits scene in the sandwhich shop had to cover his face to hide the beard he had grown for the role in this movie. That shwarma scene was shot close to release of the Avengers waay after primary shooting was done.

guys - are you so hooked on superheros that you can't comment on how kick ass this looks? seriously....who the fu#k cares about that hiding the beard nonsense? it has NOTHING to do with this movie.
  • beevis
as i write this, i'm picking my jaw up off the floor - HOLY CRAP! this looks amazing/intense!!!! not only a "must-see" but it's already a definite buy on blu for me. MS needs to do MORE movies.

He's going to be a great General Zod.

Shannon is perfect for this role.

This looks incredible! I remember watching the Iceman Confessions on A&E I believe, that guy was so indifferent to everything he did, and the story he told about leaving his family on christmas eve to kill someone real quick. Cannot wait!
  • Soooo..... James Franco dies in this film.
    • Tester
Yes, but isnt that a huge spoiler ??? Was that really neccessary ? Regardless, I am sold
      • He's an A lister. Not as likely that it's a bit part in his case.

Micheal Shannon: fucking underrated. Love this dude. Ultimate badass face on this guy. Can't wait to see how Evan's character, that role will be a first for him. I see a lot of potential in this movie.

    this is amazing
  • Doesn't look like it stays true to the book. They pass him off as an antihero instead of a psychotic.
    • beevis
agreed - but i'm still liking what this trailer is selling.
  • This looks fantastic

Man Winona is still a horrible actress after all these years...
